I need to watch it again. This guy struggles with English pronunciation and that makes it more difficult. He needs to go more slowly. This is so frustrating. I can't believe Adobe let this video represent them.
Tech & Design (6 months ago)
You can choose the video speed in YouTube. If it’s too fast for you - just slow,it down - and I’m sure you will understand since you are an English major
Kevin (6 months ago)
All very interesting except that page 1 is NOT a left hand page. Numbering is always ODD numbers right, EVEN numbers left. No exceptions. If you supply a document to a printer the way you have numbered it you will drive them mental. If the job is a self cover job (the cover is printed on the same weight stock as the text pages), then the cover is page 1, but you do not print the number on this page or the inside cover. The numbering starts on the first right hand page and is 3. If the job has a different weight stock on the cover , then page 1 is the first right hand page after turning the cover. I hope this is clear enough.
Kevin (6 months ago)
acguevara not strict rules, just the rules that the printing industry has used for several hundred years now. If you think I am wrong, then go to a bookstore or library and see if you can find a book or magazine where page 1 is a left hand page. I think you will be gone a long time.
Tech & Design (6 months ago)
I wonder what country you are at since you have all these strict rules

I am finding difficulty in footnote numbering. They start with 1 at each page. I want continuation in Numbering like we get in Page no. How to do it? Please help. Urgent!
Gill Miller (1 year ago)
Did what you showed, and it worked just fine for my "A" master. When I got to the physical page 6, it was a "B" master ... and there, it held on to the physical page number. Tried what the video said, but no change -- so "A" master pages adjusted to my desired numbers (by not numbering "NONE" master pages at the beginning) but "B" masters held on to the actual page numbers.
Thank you so much... :) Best tutorial on Adding page numbers!!

I swear when the adobe Indesign dev team sat down to make the program, they all unanimously decided that they would try and make the page numbering system complicated and unintuitive as they possibly can.
