I Love it

When working with the zippy, your work will end up half as wide as the number of pegs you cast on. Found that out the first time I made a scarf with one panel of four pegs. Fyi

Lori Roberts (1 year ago)
thanks BUT what about us lefties??? would it be that difficult to think of us once in a while????
knittingboard (11 months ago)
You can do the same steps going in the opposite direction. It will produce the same knit.
Caroline Church (1 year ago)
Lori Roberts you would start from the opposite side 😊
knittingboard (1 year ago)
Just reverse direction. It doesn't matter what side you start wrapping.

Can it be done on rectangular loom
knittingboard (11 months ago)
Yes definitely. The knitting steps are just the same.

Yippy Zippy! I just made a BLANKET using this stitch! It's gorgeous! >> Here's HOW ..... >>>>>> Attach ALL pegs across plus TWO ends. This will give you a total of 18 pegs across. The blanket is made in TWO strips. Follow this video doing the garter stitch until you get the length you want, then bind off. Repeat same steps for 2nd strip. When the 2nd strip is the same length, bind off. Then attach the two strips. If you don't know how to connect the two strips, then ... Go to Jayda InStitches' "How to Join Granny Squares - Easy Crochet" to crochet the two pieces together. If you do 3 or 4 strips, you can make a bed spread. The yarn should be very thick. I used multi-colored Bernat BABY BLANKET yarn doubled (2 skeins simultaneously). Click "settings" in lower right corner of screen to SLOW video until you have the sequence. Good luck!

hi I am from Egypt and l liked your scarf a lot but I don't have this device I just have a round loom can I make this stitch on a round loom
Sharon Carter (7 months ago)
Try using 2 pegs at a time and do not go all the way around. Sat you have a 30 peg loom, using 2 pegs as one wrap 28 pegs or 14 together. 2 pegs will not have yarn. Turn and go back. HTH
knittingboard (11 months ago)
Yes, works on all looms.
Irene OConnell (2 years ago)
Hanaa Hussin. yes you can make a scarf on a round loom. There is a tutorial here on YouTube. just type in the search bar "knitting a scarf on a round loom". very easy...

When you get to the end of your purl row; how do you wrap your yarn at the last peg to go back to the "e" wrap stitch?
Nafisa Siddique (2 years ago)
You just bind off like you would regularly

Pinky Green I’ve tried using Boye looms and I wouldn’t recommend them at all. Hella hard with those damn crochet-hook shaped pegs.

Pinky Green I've been looming for 2 years now and sell my projects at markets- I've purchased 4 zippy looms and I don't find them limiting at all! In fact they are fantastic for sore fingers- I connect and change mine all the time depending on the project👍👍👌😀

@ Trena, These videos are sales promos, NOT tutorials. Once you get suckered into the buying loom, they have no tutorials. For step-by-step tutorials, you have to watch LOOMAHAT or TUTEATE if you want to LEARN loom knitting but, you may or may not be able to use the Zippy. You'll find that very few loomers use the ZIPPY due to it's limitations. Some loomers on YT have bought the Zippy just to do a video (or been "gifted" the Zippy to do a video). If you want to make a scarf on the Zippy, then, watch "CraftingwithClaudie" 's or "Simply Maggie" 's Zippy video. Please pay attention to the weight of the yarn they're using (In Claudie's video, weight 5/6 or Maggie's video, use "Premier Couture Jazz" yarn). Heavier, thick yarn works best on the Zippy. If you don't know how to knit, it's an excellent learning tool, but very LIMITED in what you can do. Once I made a few scarves, I had to buy the BOYE loom to make other things. I now have 7 different looms. Due to it's limitations, Zippy is the one I use the least. Stay away from videos that say "make a (whatever) in 10 minutes". If you're a beginner, you CAN'T, and you'll only get frustrated.
how many pegs were you using?

There's a better video that actually teaches you HOW to make the scarf by "CraftingwithClaudie". She's got a kind of whiney voice and sounds like a 6 year old, but if you can get past that, you WILL have your scarf pronto. Mine came out beautifully.
