If two random strangers, particularly a “team” of male and female, walked up to me in a public place and said they want my child to be a model I would walk the other way immediately. Seriously, they think this is a good approach in this day and age? Like really?
They are kids and they have to worry about not eating junk food and being a certain size. That’s messed up gosh let them be kids. Every girl is beautiful it’s society that’s ugly. The modeling business proves that.
"The first thing we notice is their height." Will somebody PLEASE tell me why HEIGHT is a requirement of SEXINESS? I'm 4' 7" and would LOVE to be beautiful, but I can't be because I'll never be tall enough.
Please sign on the dotted line that we get 10% of your income for life and nothing bad will happen to you. Your daughter will never be raped or exploited by sleazy agents photogs rappers queers lesbians thrown into sex trafficking and Hollywood phonies.
I have the feeling that the modelling industry is going to get divided. More and more street chains want "street" models, plus-size, etc... because after all that's the type of people who are going to buy their clothes. I don't know if these models will be able to really have long-lasting careers. But the traditional high couture fashion companies and magazines will still look for the walking stick/boyishly shapeless bodies because what they are really selling is a dream.
It sounds like they are taking advantage of these girls first they are underage and for a parent to let their children stay to 2 strangers that claim to be model scouts is very irresponsible and one of them is a man really?
ive always wanted to be a model but seeing the fact that you have to be super skinny upsets me cause that can be really unheathy and its like everyones perfect the way they are they shouldnt have to be a certain wieght or hieght
Modeling is so unhealthy, not just for the models but also for all the girls who want to be pretty. They are starving themselves and why cant we have models with normal bodies? People have fat, it's normal
Maybe if the male scout dressed more professional parents wouldn't have their guard up so much. I mean seriously, who goes to work looking that casual. You want people to take you seriously, you have to dress the part
You know, people, you can criticize the image-obsessed nature of the fashion industry without making nasty comments about the girls' bodies. Calling them "stick-figures" or implying they're anorexic when most of the girls profiled here are just on the thin-and-tall side is crappy.
this is truly disgusting. that mother who shut these to monsters up for recruiting a 12 YEAR OLD for modelling a true hero! I understand any kind of career in the industry is brutal, even actors have to face this when auditioning for television and movies. If youre not the right look, then you arent the ideal package despite having all the talent. But this kind of industry is promoting anorexia and body dismorphia. All girls are beautiful the way they are!
Every girl or boy in the world are beautiful no matter what. I feel upset that girls dreams get crushed because they don’t meet society’s standards of beauty. You have to be a certain size, height ,weight etc. It should be “no matter what you look like, you can be whatever you want.” I do want to be a model as that was my dream and still is. I am not very tall or very skinny but I am me and I am beautiful the way I am. No matter what, anyone could be anything they want, and that’s what I want to show the world. We should not put a definition on the word beautiful.
Watching this made me so sick to my stomach. My mom used to tell me when I was younger that she would send me to Milan to model and I never really knew why she said it because I felt I wasn't pretty enough. But that's beside the point. Now, she still wants me to do that but I will never. Are you kidding me? These girls are not happy. You can tell. My goal is to be healthy for the lifestyle, not the body and these girls are pushing themselves to be so good at something that will probably fail in the end. Also, the girl who is pushing back college, not a good idea. That is going to mess up her life. If she doesn't make it, she will have nothing to fall back on. That is horrible and I hope that we as a culture can bring more body awareness and positivity into this industry because this is unacceptable and horrifying.
Why the beauty community is SO toxic. “You’ll say thanks mom for not buying those cupcakes” tf??? They are CHILDREN they need to eat!!! This is why so many young girls are starving themselves. They all want to be this.
