Why is any of this shocking? And if the video is trying to make some sort of "discrimination" statement, which apparently it is due to its use of the word "discrimination", why does it seem to view age discrimination as acceptable while body size isnt? Its ok for a princess candidate to have to look within the same age, but not within the same body type? Also, why do women seem to hate smiling?

We All Love Kyla (15 days ago)
I’m not actually sure why these are so surprising. Like whatttttt you have to look AND behave like the people they’re acting like?
Rick M (16 days ago)
this person who had done a crime at age 19, then 13 years passed, would put them over the 27 limit, could not have been a princess? that would make them 32, if my math is correct. oh well..

The thing that shock me was the age! You are never to young or to old to work at any park!
Evert van Dalen (21 days ago)
So height, make-up and hair needs to be identical; but eye color is optional? That seems like an odd oversight.

Requirement #1: the ability to suck a golf ball through a garden hose.

For Disney Paris, you must smoke Gauloises and not use deodorant.
BASSCODE PROJECT (27 days ago)
"average size" and "american women" those words should not be named in the same sentence. The average size of an american woman is identical to the size of cinderella's pumpkin carrige.

I'm guessing the physical requirements for the "fur" costumes are less strict as long as you can tolerate the intense heat and you can fit inside the costume
Sidra Jeni (1 month ago)
So... concluded that they shouldn't be called Disney princesses... they should be called Disney slaves...!!!
DJ Soul (1 month ago)
1:30 No offense, but this isn’t discrimination. But it is discrimination when Disney only gives applicants a chance to certain aged women. What about transgenders and men? 2:27 That’s also illegal.
Christina Jones (1 month ago)
They have open auditions all the time that anybody can go to, and they do not fire someone due to age.
Ashley Lam (1 month ago)
I knew about the "no pointing with one finger" because all cast members have to follow that rule

Grace M (3 months ago)
I am honestly surprised that everyone working at Disney parks around the country, can stay as happy as they are. Every amusement park i go to everyone working there is so miserable and acting like they don't want to be there. But Disney though, that's the place where I would want to be. :)
Music is Life (3 months ago)

Most of these don’t sound that different from any other jobs like this one... obviously there’s going to be a height requirement, weight requirement, age requirement, and training... the job is playing a part.

I've also heard you can't have arm hair to play a princess
Rachel Hawk (3 months ago)
so...am I the only one wondering where this video got the ages of the disney princesses?
miss cat (3 months ago)
And a size 10 is kind of bigger than I thought the max would be. I’m a little overweight and I wear a 6-8. They’re trying to replicate the look of the characters- same as age reasons. If Ariel had a big beer belly, it would not look right.
No, Disney only has one of each character. I just saw that in the last video. Bc they want to keep the magic and fairytale alive and that would be ruined if you saw 2 of them.
Obviously doesn’t apply to different locations
bea (3 months ago)
I still wanna be a disney princess lmao
Midnight Sonnet (3 months ago)
If you started to look too "old" to play your role anymore, wouldn't they just transfer you to another position in the park instead of just laying you off? That can actually get Disney in trouble, especially if they fire someone based on age. I live in California and our labor laws are quite strict. They'd rightly get sued. So I'm sure they just gain a new position after they stop being a princess. Unless the employee willingly signs a contract that strictly states they WILL get laid off/fired after they are deemed unfit to play their role(s). Then they're screwed.

I think im gonna go with Minnie if i was a woman...
Fiddleronthecube (3 months ago)
What's so strange about requiring the girl to look like the princess? Wouldn't the kids wonder why the princess is taller, older, or fatter than they recall? Movie studios, Broadway, or any entertainment endeavor all have requirements. Sure it's discrimination, but not in its worst racial sense. It's presentation. The narrator sounds as if narrating is too hard. She needs a 11m 42sec break beforehand.

Geoffrey Linehan (3 months ago)
Wait. Why aren’t they allowed to point with one finger?
BakaChan 300 (3 months ago)
Wait if they were 19 when they were arrested 13 years earlier, they wouldn't have gotten the job anyway, because they would be 32, and that is past 27. Lol.
Bald Mango (3 months ago)
So basically being disney prinsess means leading a double life
K Williams (3 months ago)
They go through 6 weeks of training not 5 days. Also they point with two fingers as the Walt Disney statue shows.
Puppypals2014 Aj (3 months ago)
I am actually going to try to be a Disney Princess when I grow up! I take acting lessons, and I go to Disney almost every year of my life. I try to learn as much as I possibly can about all the princesses! This would be one hard job...

I'm 43 but look much younger, despite my age I think I'd make quite an ok Disney Princess, my weight, size and height, etc are fine as well, although I would prefer to be Tinkerbell, (although I'd be a much better 1930s type actress!) there's no way I could stand that regimented regime, especially dealing with creepos, who I get enough of as it is and sometimes you don't feel like smiling at them! These girls certainly get my admiration, all that smiling, memorising the whole script, equal time spent with each visitor, no social media etc. I've done modelling and promotional work and that's demanding enough, but wow this! They look really nice as well in the lovely outfits, I love Elsa the most! The poor girl who was Snow White, I felt for her.
Gacha Hayley (3 months ago)
11:20 I thought you said you could only work there if you're 18-27? Im pretty sure they wouldn't let a 32 year old play a disney princess.
Gurl B (3 months ago)
California is not a country, you have federal employee law to adhere to.
