leopardgal 333 (1 month ago)

What's it like to work at the renaissance fair and how do you get the job and costumes? I'm thinking of making this my summer job when I get a little bit older.
Lola Laufeyson (3 months ago)
Lol I feel like my costume is a lot more simple... And i work at one of the shops XD. I need to get more to my costume. Rn I have a blue peasant dress and a corset. I used to have a pirate hat but my boss put me out at the big cart on a rainy day and the feathers got ruined XD.

Thank you so much for making this video. I'm going to my first renaissance faire soon and had no idea how to dress until now.
CaitiKisses (3 months ago)
The outfit looks great, but be careful when tightening that over the shoulder corset that looks like a bodice (something worn over a steel boned corset that has little to no boning in it) and if you put a steel boned corset under your red top, it will make tightening the top bodice easier

So you need to create a good shift a proper shift in white, I think you are a fall and so golden and dark emerald green, I think you would look awesome, and you don't pull your shift off the top of your shoulders. also the waist cincher (not a corset), is not from this period, and the other "Corset" it is a Bodice, Corsets did not come into being until the 1700's. Just some information! Also when you are changing your kit? Try Linen for your Smock/Shift. Cotton traps the sweat inside the fabric.

at our ren faire its a general rule that reds and purples are reserved for royalty and their court. all other colors are free game though
Voodoo Baby (1 year ago)
That's awesome. Although instead of yellow, maybe black are dark green 🌹🌹🌹

Adorable! Good work! Yes looks very good with your skin.
Lupe Mora (1 year ago)
Where did you get your red top im planning to dress up as a wench as well? please & thank you❤
KitchenWytch (1 year ago)
Lupe Mora I know you wrote this a month ago on a video about RenFaire clothes but no one had answered. Hope this doesn't seem odd but the shop I go to at my Faire is Sophie's Stitches. They have a pretty extensive line of stuff.

I think the darker colours compliment your fair complexion. That's a great costume, what a pritty wench you make.
Abalone Lordess (1 year ago)
Did you make all of this?
Makenna Whitlock (2 years ago)
you are very pail and that is perfect for the time period you are going for and that means that everything you wear will go with your skin tone

AbbyMarie (2 years ago)
do you live i Iowa?
Aaden Kreischer (2 years ago)
im pretty sure that the strings are supposed to go in the back
Sofia Salgado (6 days ago)
Aaden Kreischer no the corsets like that, the ones under the bust, have the strings in the front
LibellulaGlass (2 years ago)
I love the darker colours with your beautiful pale skin. The waist cincher was better because it covered the 'join' between the chemise and kirtle, but the corset was more sexy! You are very clever to put this all together yourself. I am making a viking costume. What did you wear on your feet, that's a big problem for me without spending a fortune. Have fun at the ren fair.
Doorlord (1 year ago)
LibellulaGlass you probably got shoes by now but for my viking costume I bought brown flats and put holes in the sides of the top. Then I laced them with leather cord. It isn't authentic obviously but it looks fine :)
Kierstyn Daft (2 years ago)
having the same problem!
Riley Derbyshire (3 years ago)
I love the Ren Faire!! This year I want to go again and dress up! I plan on wearing a chemise, bodice, skirt, and put my hair up. I can't wait! I think the Faire opens up next weekend, or maybe the one after that :3 you looked gorgeous in those colors, but they were a bit too dark for your skin. Maybe more greens and blues? Or like a gold color? Anyways, thank you so much for thee vid cause I was so lost on what to wear!! :D
Annika Larson (3 years ago)
The red top looks great with your skin but I'm not so sure about the yellow though.
Paige Gordon (3 years ago)
You are so beautiful! And so is the dress!
Kimberly Crowe (3 years ago)
Thank you! Im working my first faire this year and am lost on the outfit!
Alyssa Castano (3 years ago)
Where did you get the costume
TheBritomart (3 years ago)
Try putting on the black skirt from over your head down, much easier than stepping into it, also fall into place much easier. Yes, agree with other comments about the green, also a medium blue looks good on everyone.
Maddison Parry (3 years ago)
Where did u get all of your stuff?! Please let me asap
Michelle LaPlant (2 years ago)
First off, you can make a chemise also known as a shift. you can make your chemise using a large tee shirt as a pattern. you can find patterns at your local craft store. a smart rule of thumb for corsets and bodies is, If you Can't breath it's Too Tight.
TheBritomart (3 years ago)
There's a ton of stuff on Ebay & Etsy, just type "Renaissance" into the search. And you don't have to pay a fortune either
zim zombie (3 years ago)
Cute outfits, but that's a Bodice, not a corset. And it's not really an overbust.

Ooii
Enchanted Rose (3 years ago)
I love your apron! You hand stitched it?! It looks awesome! The embroidery is well done. I was going to get dressed for a party, so I came to this video to see if I was missing anything.
Kill The Prisons (3 years ago)
You forgot a headcover of some kind!! :).
wrangler Dave (3 years ago)
ever looked in to the Society for Creative Anachronism. i'm a heavy fighter and its much fun than renfaire
Jill Garrison (3 years ago)
I don't know if you've invested in another costume yet, but you would look better in cool shades. Mint greens, indigos and forest greens would probably look best on you.
Randall Flagg (4 years ago)
Hott!!!
Rena W (4 years ago)
**SUGGESTION** Green and gold would be a better color. I've always like the color green on brunettes and gold on fair skin, and the colors go well together. I have really fair skin as well so I always go with lighter colors to make me appear slightly more tan. I'd stay away from dark colors because it makes you look really white.
Megan D (2 months ago)
Rena W the only problem with that if it makes you look tan. Its more historically accurate to look pale. Because people back then wanted to be pale and even used lead to make them pale but I agree with you color wise.
Trashy Scum (1 year ago)
reenie weenie green was a royal color and expensive dye, most common wenches couldn't afford it
Claire Tundra (4 years ago)
You go to the Des Moines one? I go to that one too!
TaylorSmith (4 years ago)
YOU LOOK AWESOME! I also think you would look good in a dark or light green.
Too Cool (4 years ago)
Love your costume!! I'm thinking about dressing up this year and not sure what I'm gonna dress as..
MrMasCras (4 years ago)
Hey hottie be my princess!
Jillian Bailey (4 years ago)
Needed inspiration for a costume and you really helped, thanks
arilyn jade (5 years ago)
Where did u get that chimese?! It's pretty.
susan sweet (5 years ago)
thank you for posting this i was actrually wondering how to wear a corset over a skirt for ren fairs because im getting one soon so this really helped me also the color looks really good with you complextion
Dave Ranger (5 years ago)
Wow that looks cool, I go to Renaissance Faires myself so you can take my word on that LOL. I think the dark colors looks really good with your skin tone, but I'm sure I know what you were thinking and no it doesn't make you look pasty or anything, instead it gives you a warm glow if anything. I like the first corset but I like the last one much more, and by the way I find you to be a very attractively cute & charming young women. :)
