How long does it get
Each Skein was different. And you can adjust the length and thickness by casting on more etc

Here is what is hilarious - your woman in hiding gave the lodge number in the photo, so apparently she is in hiding across the street from Masonic Lodge 100 4690 Southwest Watson Avenue Beaverton, OR 97005-0543. I wud advise her to give up any dreams of working for the CIA. Bet the illuminati are on the way now

thank you for this video! I was recently given some of this ribbon yard and had no idea what to do with it until someone told me. I am doing 5 stitches as well! Your video just makes this look so easy and so fun!
You're very welcome! Thank you for your comment and thanks for watching! Come back soon :)

I also hold the left needle under my armpit.

I prepare the yarn by staightening it on a paper roll. When I knit it I go right handed and use my left ring finger to stick in the mesh and pull it down while my right hand finds the top hole

So you don't close the two ends? This is all new to me, I used 6 stitches I think its' fun but want to learn to do it right! Thanks
You close it like you usually do with knitting, cast off your loops, then the last one you pull the left over net through. then tie a knot to secure
Karen Linnenkamp (2 years ago)
Do we use the entire ball of yarn? I thought I saw to make it 24 inches. I just did my first one, which is over 30 in. long lol Thanks
I always use the whole skein

how many rows would be good for an adult
Lauren Tuck (3 years ago)
OK thx that's a great help
+Lauren Tuck I knit the whole skein, depending on the thickness of the netting, will determine how many stitches you will have per row to get the thickness you want.
Sonia Mcnally (3 years ago)
thankyou! Splendid!

How many rows do you knit for a good length?

Love how you place the yarn mesh on the left for control...and..YOU HAVE BEEN DESCRIBING HAVING WEIGHT OR TENSION ON THE BOTTOM.  YES, IT HAS BEEN THE ANSWER FOR MY WORK, after ripping a scarf off twice!
+Bonnie Konjevich I know that pain! So glad I helped you :D
Kai Morris (4 years ago)
Is there a way to blend more than one colored ruffle yarn? Or would I just have to find a multicolored blend premade?
+Kai Morris So many color blends, would be so much easier to find a pre made blend for cheap now a days
Darci Thomson (4 years ago)

Henny Kusumo (4 years ago)
Hi..im a beginner in learning mesh scarf, but i bought the yarns in a large eyelits.after i stiches,it looks very loose..i dont know that my stiches already correct or not..please give me some suggestion what i have to do...thank you 😊
Candy Lifshes (4 years ago)
If the eyelits are large then the scarf will be loose. It's not what you are doing as long as you are doing the garnet stitch as I show you here. You could always change needle sizes but it won't help to make your scarf tighter if the eyelits are large. If you want a tighter scarf you need to buy the yarn that comes with smaller holes.

Drawing 4 life (4 years ago)
So do you just keep doing that
This is a linked comment so I have to guess at what your mean, if you mean the basic stitch, yes, and I show you how to end the scarf as well.
Caia Calabrese (4 years ago)
Thanks so much! Now I got it! I couldn't understand how it was done until I watched your video. Unbelievable, it's easy! Hahaa Thanks a lot!
Yaaaaay so glad I could help you understand! Yes it really is easy and fun and the end scarf is beautiful! I hope now you can make many in as many colors as you want :D
Karen Hendrickson (4 years ago)
I have made several ruffle scarves and added a twist to mine. Will take pictures and send at a later date as iit is 12:20 am and I am tired!
daiseechain (4 years ago)
So, if you added more stitches, would that make the scarf not as tight in terms of how close the swags are? Would it look "less full"?
No it would look fuller, but the scarf would be shorter. I prefer to make it long and then fold it in half before putting it on.

I am a crocheter but with this sashay yarn I had to learn the basics of knitting and it's the only thing I knit...for now. I found that using every other loop and slightly tugging every row helps get rid of the uniform look in the beginning. And at the end of each row I start by skipping two loops for the new row. Thanks for the video!!
Yes I was told to do this from the very beginning, but then you loose yarn and its not as long, so I set out to fit the problem on my own :D
antennaalley (5 years ago)
Why doesn't my scarves turn out as thick and full as yours does??
There are three factors that effect the length and thickness. 1: The size holes of the mesh 2: the size needle used 3: how many stitches you use. If you have a medium size mesh, which most coming out now seem to have, then check the paper that comes around the yarn and use the recommended size, if its not full enough, switch to 6 stitches instead of 5. This will make it slightly wider and fuller. But keep in mind the more stitches you use to make it wider, the shorter the over all scarf will be.

This is cool! Thank you

Can you knit 1 purl 2 with this yarn?
Its best to keep it garnet stitch, easier and all stitches form the same way making it flexible and even.
Beth Porter (5 years ago)
Oh thank you so much! I'm i. The US and just lve these scarves! Huge hit here, now if this snow would disappear so I can go buy some yarn!
hehe :D

I make these for my lady friends...  hey, the shepherds used to knit when they watched over their sheep right?  :)
Rozen Love (5 years ago)
It's easier than I thought. Always thought it was more complicated. Awesome
Michelle M (5 years ago)
I bought a few balls of the mesh yarn simply because it was on sale and thought I'd find a tutorial on it somewhere.  Your tutorial has been so simple and easy to understand, obviously knowing how to knit normal 'knit and purls' is essential :P  I'm already onto my 3rd scarf.  Really relaxing to do without having to concentrate on a pattern.  Thanks so much for taking the time to share your demonstration :))
You're very welcome, so glad I could help :D

Rayna Kay (5 years ago)
As a leftie, once I got to around 3:30 I became rediculously confused... I pray you have a left handed version of this.
Christopher Musanté (5 years ago)
Whatever hand you use - hook your first needle with 5 stitches along the edge - then insert your second needle thru the stitch closest to the end of the needle they are on - you will have 2 needles in the 1 stitch.  You can hold both needles with one hand.  Then using your free hand Then, pull the yarn snug - not too hard - and hook the next available loop/hole/stitch over the 2nd needle.  After you do this,  Start to pull the 2nd needle OUT of the stitch... once the tip gets to where you can hook (and pull) the loop you just added THROUGH the one that is on the first needle - pull the "new" stitch through and then push the needle in the other direction to secure the "new" stitch onto the 2nd needle. Keep doing this until all the stitches move from one needle to the next - then flip it around and keep going - you can do it!!!  I can and I'm a Marine!!!  LOL!!

I watched this video 15 times and it still makes no sense to me! Not helpful at all. Video was unclear and far away impossible for beginners to follow. Don't waste your time.
Vixx Lear (5 years ago)
I have looked at a few vids of how to knit these scarves and none of them really made it very clear but then I stumbled upon this one and hey presto, I can do it!  Thanks so much for your time and sensible suggestions :)
You're very welcome! :D
Raquel Hrabinski (5 years ago)
Hi Great video! I bought a ruffle scarf recently and Ive done all the various knitting and crocheting options but its still not coming out quite like the one I bought. If I was to knit every other hole it would come out more loosely and ruffly versus bell shaped and tight? could you maybe post a video of doing every other hole? Thanks!!!!!
Very nice :D They don't have Lazy Susan's out here in Israel that I have seen, was thinking on getting some the other day...I may have to start searching :D
Good luck! :D
You're very welcome :D

Hello, I am knitting every other loop and it's still looking like a bell shape. I'm using the sashay boutique sequins this time and it's taking forever to ruffle. I even held the tails in between my knees, but it's just not ruffling. Any ideas? I'm pretty frustrated right now.
Joy Peacock (5 years ago)
I have watched people knitting these scarves for ages and just have not been able to figure out how to do it. Thank you for your video which may just have saved my sanity!

I just wanted to say thank you for posting this tip. I tried the method in the video and was getting a very uniform look, saw your tip and started over and it fixed the problem! :)

Audrey Gochenour (5 years ago)
Thanks so much for the tutorial!!
I buy it in a shop called Peshtan near the shook off Weistman and Hertzal street in kefar saba. Starbella is the american company, the kind you find in israel goes by a few different names, the ball of yarn looks a bit like shoe laces, but it's very popular and all the yarn shops should carry it.
I have one but not 100% happy with it so it's something I think will do better with the softer acrylic that is coming out now. I will have to look more into it.
Sara Claro (6 years ago)
oh btw, do you have tutorials for a crochet kippah? Can't really find this on youtube..
Sara Claro (6 years ago)
Whrere do you buy this net yarn/ Starbella here in Israel? I usually buy my stuff in a crafts shop near the Azrieli mall in T.A., never seen this before... Please LMK :)
krik - old channel (6 years ago)
lol wouldn't help, I smoked at this time and was always having to clear my throat. Good thing is though that now I have editing software so I remove all that stuff. This was one of the first tutorials I ever filmed. I have come a long way since this one was filmed. Thank you for your input.
Yes I do, look up Meladoras Creations on etsy

Catherine nineninetwo (6 years ago)
Just a comment for future videos you may make - Please clear your throat prior to starting the recording so that those with the volume up or earphones in dont get blown away. Thanks.
For the US it's Starbella, for Israel where I am from and where I first found this yarn, it's called something else. Different companies out here :D
Your very welcome, glad I could help!
Linda De Long (6 years ago)
Thank you for sharing this tutorial, it was quite helpful. I have been knitting for quite a few years now and decided to knit this scarf when my daughter showed me one a friend of hers had knitted. I wasn't sure how to begin, as the instructions that come with the yarn are quite confusing. Thank you again for this video... I will be knitting quite a few more of them, thanks to your very detailed tutorial video...
Countess Gamble (6 years ago)
Thank you very much for the demonstration. I have the pattern but couldn't get started. This is video is very helpful. Looking forward to more.

Your very welcome! :D
MsSpoiledNY (6 years ago)
Ive made about 5 of these, I fold over the begining maybe 2 or 3 times and start with 3 stitches for a few rows, it makes a beautiful Bell shape, and at the end i do the same thing..fold over the end a few times, knit a bit then bind off. Dont have to knot anything
Tracy Bochenek (6 years ago)
Okay, thanks, I'm just realizing now that the yarn comes netted like that so sorry for the confusion :-)
Yes this tutorial shows you that.
Tracy Bochenek (6 years ago)
Your instructions seem nice and easy to follow, I am just wondering if you have a tutorial about how to start one of these scarves from the beginning? Thanks!
April Sweatt (6 years ago)
