kindly tell me the way . i want to resolve the problem .
Wysheid Wysheid (1 year ago)
In that case , the above command will not work and the error is expected . If you want the database control , you can create it any point of time
sHam aLee (1 year ago)
i don't think so
Wysheid Wysheid (1 year ago)
sHam aLee I mean, database control, as the part of database creation

Hi Experts, I am installing Oracle 11g on RHEL 6.5 & I am facing one serious issue as below -- first I create one group oinstall ( groupadd -g 501 oinstall ) -- Then I create oracle user (useradd -u 501 -g oinstall oracle) """A warning comes:-the home directory already exist. Not copying any file skel directory into it. creating mailbox file: file exist"" -- now when I do Switch user (su oracle) it brings me to prompt like bash-4.1$ -- and again if go to root user( su root), it takes me to some blank page where I can type only. no action happen. to stop this I have to press Ctrl+Z Pls suggest me, why I am landed to this problm and what is the permanent solution? Thanks

Thank you for this video, but i have a question, once i have finished creating the user i typed  " cat /etc/passwd " to view the created user i found the user created but the output was " oracle:x:800:800::/home/oracle: " instead of "oracle:x:800:800::/home/oracle: /bin/bash" does this mean that the user oracle is not an admin or a super user? is it something that i have to be concerned about??

Hi Wyshield! I do enjoy your tutorial on the Oracle database installation but I ran into difficulty as I was installing the software. I am new to Oracle DB. Some of the prerequisites and or missing. They are as follows: Pdksh-5.2.14, unixODBC-devel-2.2.11, libstdc++-3.4.6, gcc-c++-3.4.6 and a few others. I tried fix&check but it is greyed out. How do I fix this problem? Your guide will be greatly appreciated. Thank you and keep up the good work. Viictor
