The body of this scarf is knit in 1x1 rib stitch. I have a video for the 1x1 rib here if you need more instruction: https://youtu.be/dCJj3pW2nRY

Thank you for your GREAT tutorials! So clear and wonderful. I love this pattern. You mentioned your scarf kit, but when I went to your website no kits were listed for sale. Along with no yarn or "Etc"--items were out of stock. I'm sad!!

You make fantastic videos and I love your voice! I'm not the knitting type, but I've somehow got the knitting bug through your videos. I signed up for a one hour work shop and had bought a kit and tried to do a cowl, but I somehow went from 34 to 70 stitches when I got home. It was tight, and never ending and scary! I didn't realize I was doing the purl stitch all wrong, and splitting my yarn and adding loops. I watched your videos on how to correct all the problems and did a practice swatch with all the basic skills from your how to knit video and now I'm ready to do my first real project. Thank you!!

+Ariana Lyf Aw! I love your story! Thank you for sharing! I'm so glad the videos helped you out! Knitting definitely has a learning curve that scares a lot of beginners, but once you "get it" and the beginner mistakes are behind you, it's just awesome! You'll knit hats and sweaters and socks that will keep you and your family warm. It's a great feeling! Keep up the great knitting! And good luck on your knitting journey!
slizzee1 (3 years ago)
Can you use a simple backward loop cast on for this instead of this complicated cast on? Will that affect the look of this scarf at all? PS thanks I am going to try this as my first knitting project! :)
Sheep & Stitch (3 years ago)
+slizzee1 Yes you can! The cast on will be hidden by those pom poms, so you can use whatever cast on you like.
If I were to knit an adult scarf, how many cast on should I make? ^^
Sheep & Stitch (3 years ago)
+Fayola Isabelle Hartanto Hey! It depends on how wide you want your scarf to be. Start casting on with your yarn, and when the width of the cast on stitches equals the width you want your scarf to be, then you can stop casting on and start knitting. Just remember to cast on an ODD number of stitches so you can follow along with the stitch pattern. Hope that helps!

+Vicky's Videos Awesome! I've got a sock tutorial in the works, but booties! That's a thought! My current design/filming line up looks like this: socks, mittens, fisherman's ribbed hat. What weight yarn are you into? Chunky? Medium/worsted or are you a lace/sock weight knitter?
