Wow... OK short story... I remember Swinging Safari playing on the radio when I was a tad pole. Just to young to care about the song name. Years later it was used as the background music on a local lumber company's commercials. (Zaggermans) I never new the song name and you just can't google the "da da" song.. I'd been looking for years but could never find it. Blammo, I clicked on this post when looking for something else. What a great surprise when it started playing. It may not be a great timeless classic but it sure gets the toes tapping.

The Peter Gunn version you have by Henry Mancini is actually by Duane Eddy. The Mancini version is different.

Haha, I recognised the 'Poor People of Paris' tune (37:25): a UK local commercial radio station, Radio Tees, used Winifred Atwell's version (here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eY_PabVEUbY) in the '80s to advertise their service whereby you could dial up on your phone and listen live to their over-the-air output, an early streaming service! The advert's lyrics went: 'Radio Tees is on the air / Radio Tees is in your home / Radio Tees is in your car and on your telephone / Start to hear us on the blower /Wherever you may be / On Stockton eight-o-seven-three / Eight-o-seven-three'.

I was a little girl and I loved to heard " Instrumental Music" in some Radio Stations .Those were the Best music of many decades. Perhaps the Musical Autors before, did not use so frequently like now " Hard Drugs" to destroy their brain. For few exception the actual music , is bad. it's a pity. Moods= I thank you very much, for give us this Delicious Music to heard . You have an excellent Good Taste . God Bless you.

This music was the soundtrack to the 60s. Another thing about 60s culture was the Corning Coffee Percolator, as seen in this demo video...that and Cuba, the Cold War, large room sized computers, over-the-air television... https://youtu.be/1jOeYoqB9-U

Im Generation X, b. 1966. Both parents listened to 68 CJOB here in Winnipeg, Canada, so I grew up listening to all that they played. Beatles, The Doors, Frank Sinatra, Carpenters, The Rolling Stones, lots of "easy listening" instrumentals. By the time I reach my early teen years (late 70s) I loved Herb Alperts Rise and more "modern" stuff like that.

Perfect music to listen to on LP on the big radiogram in the lounge of a 'Tudorette' duplex home in the suburbs, next door to Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz...or on the car radio while driving in a 1960 Plymouth Fury...or while pushing a shopping cart round the Piggly Wiggly supermart...or while going bowling with the local league at the Bowl-O-Rama...or during the intermission at the Drive In...

Love you all!!! Nice to know how many other "SANE" folks out there who appreciate this great music, too. They removed all of the Easy Listening stations from the airwaves - a crime. If more people were exposed to this I believe that it would help to get some sanity back into our culture. I always say that it is part of the real conspiracy. Electronics, Rap and Hip-Hop ...... that's it. (;>(

I remember an FM radio station,WPAT, that played the so-called easy listening music. My Godparents would sometimes play this radio station when I went over to visit for a party or whatever with my siblings, so it was playing often in the background in their home, which was always relaxing and sweet.
