Don't miss an upload! Subscribe! http://goo.gl/szEauh How does the pervasiveness of JavaScript on the client change how we architect applications? We can create hundreds virtual machines in the cloud, but we are using the millions of visual machines that visit our sites every day? Suddenly we are scripting against thousands of Virtual Machines from the command line while creating things today with JavaScript in the browser that were impossible yesterday. LiveScript becomes JavaScript becomes ES6 and now we're compiling C++ to JavaScript. Join Scott Hanselman as he explores the relationship between the Cloud and the Browser, many Languages and one Language, how it might all fit together and what comes next. I could not get back to what I was doing until I watched the whole thing. Good job Scott! This could be a great motivational presentation for any older develop who is eager, but hesitant to return to developing things using today's cutting edge technologies.

What he does is to acknowledge that Microsoft is not a technology leader in almost any aspect.

The fact this dude doesn't understand the awesomeness that is javascript, proves he's still a microsoft borg boy.
Luiz Esmiralha (3 years ago)
+Noah Namey BTW, the only funny thing in this presentation is that he thinks HTTP was a "good job". This made me laugh hard.
Luiz Esmiralha (3 years ago)
+Noah Namey The fact that he does not know that VMs were invented by MIT and commercialized by IBM in the 60s is what really bothers me. This shit is not new at all and I wonder how deep this "neckbeard" was buried in the past 40 years to not know the concept.
James Alcaraz (3 years ago)
+Noah Namey Enjoy your JS kool aid!

I simply can't help sharing this after starting watch it for only 1 minute.

Likely the most entertaining talk I will ever see.
Jacky Jackson (4 years ago)
Yeah, well, I think he is boring, not funny at all, and an attention seeker.

Hello all coders. My name is Kobie Olden. I'm a student at Towson University. I need help building a social media website I am trying to accelerate to launch late this year early next. Incentives and pay are not yet finalized (college student), but the profitable potential of the market this website is in may draw much interest from those who fit and are interested. Now, there are 4 languages that are being used; html5 css3 JavaScript and php. If you are familiar or excel at any of these 4 and are willing to become an expert at the others if necessary, you are a fit. There is major advancement opportunity available (equity) because of the great timing I am extending the offer. The market I am building this website for is a growing 2.7 billion annual market. If you have an inquiries, I am open to meeting or contact through email or phone.  My contact information is: Email: [email protected] Mobile: 4433569333 Please do not respond on youtube, I am very busy. Please utilize my contact info. Thanks

I've been listening Hanselminutes and This Developer's Life for a long time, but this was the first presentation from +Scott Hanselman I've ever seen. Wonderfully funny, and just great how he isn't too serious about himself or Microsoft.

Nikita Skryabin (5 years ago)
Standup programmer? Scott is awesome))
Chad Thomas (5 years ago)
How in the eff do you downvote this?
Luiz Esmiralha (3 years ago)
+Chad Thomas Well, I can't answer for the others, but for me it was a combination of lame jokes and shallow content.
Chad Thomas (3 years ago)
+Luiz Esmiralha, this not a question of "How does one use Google+ and use the downvote feature?", it is "How can the 23 people who downvoted this talk actually downvote it?" #LostInTranslation
Luiz Esmiralha (3 years ago)
+Chad Thomas Well, Chad, I tried it and it's actually quite easy. Look for a little icon that looks like an upside down Italian telling you how to use ketchup in pizza. Found it? Good. Now move your mouse to it and click. Done. Easy, no?

+Scott Hanselman was one of the keynote speakers from +O'Reilly Fluent Conference. Everybody loved his presentation.
shakerlakes (5 years ago)
Great talk! Note to the director: Next time? Picture in a picture. Way too much time was spent on Hanselman and not enough time on the presentation.
