Easy Loom Knitted Scarf

15328 ratings | 2831415 views
For this easy scarf, I used a long rectangular loom with 18 pegs across, but only used 8 of them so a shorter loom will work just as well. These work up so quickly and are easy to do while you're watching something on TV as they don't require too much intense concentration! :) You can do these with either bulky weight yarn or two strands of worsted weight. Then all you need is the loom and the pick-style tool that comes with it and you're good to go! People have asked for a tutorial on how to weave in the ends, so here's a link to how I do so: http://youtu.be/APboks_dWww

You made this video such a long time ago. But I found it easy to follow. I bought the same exact loom and happened to find your video. I like that it was bright. We could see what you were doing. And when you made a mistake you fixed it in front of us because chances are we will do the same. Thanks.

Thanks so much! I've had this loom or 3 years and never used it. The instructions were insane. Watching you after a few minutes, I'm now zooming through my first scarf. Awesome. Good teacher!
Next time, I think you could explain it a little better.

Thank you so much for your video!! I watched it to learn how to finish the ends of my scarf...very clear directions, thank you again...:)

when i started my first project, a little hat for my nephew, i made that 3 loop mistake and knitted the bottom loop over the 2 loops. your video just helped me figure out how to fix it. thanks! i've made 3 hats and a very mutated looking fingerless mitten lol.

What brand of loom are you using
Panda Power (2 months ago)
does using two yarns make it go faster?
deanne stanton (2 months ago)
I found after you do the turn, instead of working backwards back to the start, turn the loom around and it is the same motion as the front side.

This was my first infinity scarf and it turned out beautiful. Thank you for such clear instructions! I would love to have you show us if there is a way to put the other end back on the loom to bind off and knit it together to make an infinity scarf. I just followed your instructions and now I'm just going to knit the two ends together but I feel like there should be a way of doing this on the loom. I can't find a video of anyone doing this. I saw someone doing it on a straight loom with just one row of pegs but not on a loom like in this video with two rows of pegs.
FallingSkies89 (2 months ago)
5:35 I don’t understand what I’m supposed to do here with the end peg at all.
FallingSkies89 (2 months ago)
I am REALLY confused. How are you supposed to pull the first loop off of the peg? Where is it supposed to go? How is there only one loop left? I don’t understand. Am I misunderstanding her or am I just dense??
Nelley Knight (2 months ago)
Thank you Thank you finally someone that I can follow!! 🤗🤗🤗
EveryThingGirl238 (2 months ago)
BTW people, if you miss a peg don't panic, it'll be okay. And if you thing unravels, just grip where it started and repute it back on, luckily it won't mess up the product if you do. I learned this the hard way, but luckily my teacher was there XD

You are an amazing teacher!! Thanks so much for making this video! I had no idea how to do it and from your video i was able to make a perfect, beautiful head-wrap right away. You should teach classes in person. Maybe you do. I’ll be watching more of your videos. You have a neat sense of humor too. Best wishes.

Best video I’ve found. You explained things wonderfully.

I liked your video very much! I have at least 6 of these looms in different sizes! I also have one that's custom made and adjustable plus a custom made circular loom! I have made hats & scarves, literally by the dozens! I've used 1 to 2 strands of yarn. Each one has come out beautiful & making them is very calming & relaxing! My big problem is that every single scarf, no matter how tight I make the stitches or how good my yarn has been, each & every scarf stretches almost to the floor when worn! Any idea why this happens? I have never used the "different loop at the end" technique & my work has turned out just fine! Where did you lean this?

Thank you this really helped a lot the instructions that i had did not help me at all I looked at the video and i was able to do it so thank you

Great instruction video. Thank you!
TheRedStormer (3 months ago)
Thank you! This was very helpful as I am making 2 scarves. I think I may have gotten the same instructions with my set as you because although my loom looks different, the hook is the same and this is the same weave. I didn't like how the instructions explained it at all, as they did not directly explain that you need to remove the bottom loops before adding more.
Collette Landwer (3 months ago)
Had to do this with sound off, but i see it turned out great. Thank you for the video. Hoping you’ve become a little more proficient with the loom hook
Maggie Smith (3 months ago)
A latch hook would work for the binding off and the weaving in of the tail ends. Your video was VERY helpful and presented very nicely. Thanks.

Your video helped me to get started with scarves and I am halfway through completing a baby blanket for my niece using the largest loom in my second set of looms I purchased. Lion Brand and Bernat yarn companies owe you a great deal of credit for their recent sales increase from all the yarnhave purchased!! Head bands and hats are next on my list!! Plus I am getting my other niece a loom set for Christmas this year!! Thank you so much!!!

I was actually looking for something unique to be my hobby, handmade as well as help me to earn some money! Somehow I have reached this tutorial. It reminds me that a long time back, my mom did teach me knitting ( some basics)! This vdo did bring back my childhood memory. Now I'm thinking of starting back this childhood memoize. this may not be going to earn me any money, but for sure make me be occupied. Thanks =)
