Excellent advice! I've been calling on buyers for major brand names for over 25 years with all the big chains. Not necessarily. I have clients who just have one product that they sell into retail chains. It would be nice for the buyer to have more products to purchase from you - but it's not the only reason they don't (or do) purchase from you. Make sense?

Ok Ik this sounds stupid but how do I get money from the my product being in their store and does the store need to get money from me I'm sorry I feel like this is something everyone should know but I just don't understand this topic

Chain stores give you a purchase order when they purchase your product. When they pay you varies based on retailers and their terms. And yes, you are responsible for paying for the goods and shipping the products to retailers prior to you receiving payment typically. Not to worry - there are ways to get someone else to pay for the products for purchase orders from big chain stores. There is plenty to say on this topic, but this is a start. Hope this helps!

+productforprofit thanks :) i love your videos! I am a college student who runs a business as well, and my product has seen success I've sold out my beta version of my product in 2 months on Amazon. I am currently manufacturing the second run (out of stock now because we made huge adjustments and improvements), and this TYPE of product has had success in 2 countries (usa not one of them yet). My (patent pending) product improves upon their mistakes and when it is ready, it will take the entire market because I have made an extremely drastic improvement (competitors do not care about customers). Your videos really help! I will be watching more of your stuff. You seem to know many things and are very knowledgable ~ I hope one day we can meet or perhaps you will entertain a strategic partnership. If you had any mastermind groups or such, I would totally join! But for now I will keep learning and keep improving - my product is in a new market but this niche is here however small it is ... I am new to business and it took 2 months to do roughly 12k sales, but i started really small and hope to one day learn what you have learned. Thanks :)

Hi Karen and Mona , My opinion is better you put your prouduct in small retailer , let people know about your product ..it doesnt meant if your product stay at the larger and will be shadow with all long time branded company...maybe , you can spend a time to test the people how they are thinking about your products...

+AwidZ Tcer Aida If you feel more comfortable, then sell to small retailers first! I have clients who went straight to major retailers and got into stores. And I have clients who prefer to start small and grow their business :) It's up to you!

Hi Karen and thank you very much for your helpful tips, I really need your help please. Currently I have finished the product design and development stages for my brand, my website www.progatti.com is operational and ready to sell my brand, and I have 10,000 units available for sale, before approaching the large retailers do I need to have my product in smaller retailers? I have heard that the large retailers won't even consider my product if I am not already selling to few small retailers, and if this is true how many unites should I sell before approaching the large retailers? Also do you have any tutorials about how to write the perfect pitching email to get the retailers attention?  I really appreciate your guidance. Thank you
