Correct me if I'm wrong but your first stitch was made in the first chain from the hook
Quilterbee Tarpley (1 day ago)
She went into the 1st stitch after hook, sc into the 2nd stitch or 1st stitch ftom hook. I saw what you are referring to, its a bit hard to see.
Colleen Hays (2 days ago)
Hi Uzziah! Which row are you looking at?
Imbett Haley (4 days ago)
Youa re an amazing teacher...thanks for a lovely tutorial
Stew (5 days ago)
I just made my wife a ribbed scarf last night it was my first crochet project it came out perfect with nice straight edges and I did the tassel ends I think that is what they are called, little sting ends. My mom showed me how to do a lot of stuff when I was little like sew, crochet, clean, and cook. She said she wanted to make sure I knew how to do everything because most women now a days don't and she was right my wife did not know how to do anything when I married her lol. Of course I was 19 when I got married and we have been married for over 26 years. I will post a pic she wore the scarf tonight.
Colleen Hays (1 day ago)

It’s pretty...you say it’s an infinity. I just thought infinity scarves were a circle.....
Colleen Hays (1 month ago)
Thank you Marilyn! Actually, it can be made into an infinity, it just won't be continuous in the work up, you will have to stitch the ends once finished =)

Lily Plague (3 months ago)
I always do exactly what you say but by the time the second row is over, I only ever have four things, instead of six. I don't know how this happens but I love the pattern and really want to get it right.
Lily Plague (3 months ago)
Yes it did! It's not perfect, but I did get it! I love the texture of the scarf.
Colleen Hays (3 months ago)
Hi Lily! The best way I can explain is to make sure you are working your next row of 3 dc clusters into the middle dc of each cluster from the previous row. If you are doing this, you will always end up with the same number of clusters throughout the pattern. If you are talking about in the very beginning, after creating your foundation chain, if you are chaining the same amount in the beginning as I did, you should be ending up with 6 clusters. Are you possibly starting your 2nd row in the wrong chain to begin? Let me know if that helps at all. Thank you for your interest in my pattern! =)

Lion brand.com has the Landscapes solid colors on sale for $3.50/skein right now. It’s a great deal at half price. I love this pattern and tried it out making a small keepsake blanket that our women’s ministry makes for newborns at our local hospital. It turned out absolutely lovely. I enjoy patterns with a variety of stitches and this pattern fit the bill and I had so much fun with it. I will be using it frequently. Thanks for the great tutorial!

Donna Good (8 months ago)
Well, i have to ask, never heard the term "froging" before. What is that? Yea! I found out, rip out
Patricia H (3 months ago)
+Colleen Hays No, it means to undo. The worst thing a novice seamstress can do is use a ripper. Likewise, you don't cut errors from your yarn. You pull them out. I have been told it is harder to frog knitting.
Colleen Hays (8 months ago)
That's right! =D LOL

Tricia Coone (10 months ago)
Hello! I'm currently making the scarf in the video. I made is 6 wide just like the video, but for some reason my sides are starting to curl in. Do you have any suggestions on how to stop it or a border that you said you left out in the video?
Colleen Hays (9 months ago)
Btw...my only thought on the curling is maybe your stitches are too tight?
Colleen Hays (9 months ago)
Hi Tricia! I'm not sure actually... What type of yarn are you using? One thing that I always do if I have curling is I do a quick block after finishing my project. When I say quick block, I mean I lay my project out on the iron board and holding the iron about 2-3" from the scarf, with the steam setting on, I will go over it. This pretty much clears up any curling issue =D ♥

Thank you Patricia, really appreciate this comment =) I'm always happy to hear tips from viewers when they are constructive and stated kindly... sometimes they aren't so kind, but, I'm pretty thick skinned ;) Have a wonderful evening and thank you again for your kind comment ♥

+Colleen Hays Yes, each student making a free garment from your tutorials should say thank you very much. If they can't understand, don't like your nail polish, want subtitles, they can find another tutorial.
Colleen Hays (11 months ago)
I'm sorry Ana.. My style can be annoying to some and helpful to others. Thanks for the tips! =)
Carmen Soper (1 year ago)
do you think you would know how to make this into a triangle scarf?
Colleen Hays (1 year ago)
Carmen Soper I'm so sorry, at this time the only thing I could advise you on would be this version or larger or smaller. The triangle would require decreasing which I haven't worked out yet. Life is a little hectic right now but I think that is a great idea and something I may come back to after the holidays!
Colleen Hays (1 year ago)
karen sinclair please note: An infinity scarf is a large, closed loop of fabric that can be worn in a variety of trendy ways. This tutorial shows how to turn this scarf into an infinity scarf if one so chooses. There is nothing misleading about this and I'm always thrilled to offer my FREE patterns, along witg videos, which, by the way, takes days to edit and upload for everyone to enjoy. I know if you've taken the time to comment and apparently watch my video, you obviously have interest in my pattern. For this I'm thrilled 😘 Have a lovely day!
karen sinclair (1 year ago)
Infinity scarves are twisted and connected. Please do not mislead by using that term in tutorial. Thumbs down for mislead and unprofessional tutorial in general.

Is there a matching hat with this type of pattern?
Colleen Hays (1 year ago)
Hi Angela! Should be out in the next couple of days =D
Linda Theriault (1 year ago)
Love this pattern and plan on making several with Unforgettable since I have several skeins. Since this yarn is thinner I will have to use a smaller hook and not sure what the multiples are on this pattern so I can ensure that the scarf ends up with the same width.

I dropped to an I hook and did want it the same width. Took a chance with 24 sts and it seems about right. Thank you for the awesome pattern!

That's wonderful Linda! Are you trying to make it that same width as in the video? The width on the scarf I made was around 5 1/2" that was with 21 starting chain. You want an odd number of chains to start, so I would just measure it and eyeball it to get it to that approx width from whatever number of chains you start with. You will have an even number at the end of each row. I hope this helped =/

I love the pattern. Thanks for sharing. I did change it up a bit. I chained one instead of 2 because I didn't like the scalloped Edge on one side and not the other. I can't believe how fast this worked up.

Thank you Colleen, I am going to find some Landscape and use that. I don't need the scarfs to be too hot as they are going to live in S. California. Thanks for your help. Lilly.

lillian Lang My pleasure Lilly! Yes, I think either the Landscapes or Unforgettable would be much better choices for that area 😊 Have a wonderful day!

Pretty stitch, what's the name of it? Thanks for sharing but if I may say please use lighter color yarn for videos, it's haré todo see with darker colors, thanks again
Colleen Hays (1 year ago)
Chiquitina Blue Yes, I definitely should have used a lighter color and for this I apologize 😊 It is actually a combination of stitches rather than an actual stitch of its own. Thanks so much for your kind comment! 💗

I really like this scarf and I want to make some for Christmas. I went shopping for Lionbrand, Landscape and couldn't find it. I got some L.B. Hometown USA and I wonder if that would work. There is 64 yards in a skein and I would like to know if that is the same as Landscape. Thank you for any help. Lilly.
Colleen Hays (1 year ago)
lillian Lang I'm sorry... I meant the LB has 64 yds 😊
Colleen Hays (1 year ago)
lillian Lang Hi Lilly! The Landscapes has 146 yds and is classified as a medium 4 while the Hometown USA has the 63 yds and is a super bulky 6. It will be very pretty but will have a different look if that helps. Another close yarn to the Landscapes is the Red Heart Unforgettable 😊
