Logo redesign process and walk through for Simply Jack Vettriano - Logo Design

227 ratings | 6249 views
I've been getting requests now pretty much every week from channel subscribers, asking me to do a video showing a logo that I've designed. Rather than start off with a video showing a full, from scratch, brand identity project; I thought I'd start by showing the process I went through for a logo redesign. Stay Creative! Great improvement! How do you manage the gap in the umbrella interception to the lines for it to be equal in every side?

you rock

Thank you Israr.

I really like the process you went with. One thing I realized was that, if the umbrella simbolizes "vettriano" immediately, I Would have made the exercise of reducing the logo to "simply jack", since the logo itself asks for that, with the support of the umbrella as Vettriano. It even reminds me of the song "hit the road jack". Just a thought. Great video.

I like that suggestion Mario. The client had specified though that the full business name of Simply Jack Vettrianno was to be included in the logo design. Thanks for leaving a comment :) Stay Creative! Col

I’m loving these videos where you go through your thought process, step by step. It’s fantastic to watch and hear thoughts on what works, what doesn’t, and why. I find them incredibly helpful. Keep up the top work (and stay creative of course)!

I like that new logo - especially the outlines around the umbrella. The social media logo doesn't fit my taste fully but it'll work I assume. Thx for sharing and I'm looking forward to the next logo video.

Wow what a difference, really nice design. Thank you for showing us your process. Question, with the social media version would using the same double borders as the main logo work or is unnecessary?
John Valatos (1 year ago)
Thanks for responding, makes a lot of sense.
Pixels Ink (1 year ago)
+John Valatos a good question. I decided to not use the double borders because when it comes to things like newsfeeds, your profile image is very small. Using the borders would have taken up valuable pixel width and I wanted to make sure that the SJV and umbrella were legible at small sizes.
Iqbal Giffari (1 year ago)
as always, simple but very useful. i found the strong relation between the content and visual. mind if i ask? when you design that, what is the hardest part, and how you handle it?
Iqbal Giffari (1 year ago)
Thank you for sharing col
Pixels Ink (1 year ago)
+Iqbal Giffari to be honest, this was one of those projects that went very smoothly. It was a solid subject to work with and I hand a clear vision of the type of thing I wanted to do. The hardest part is usually finding that first concept idea. If I struggle with that I make sure to take at least a 24 hour break and then go back at it with a fresh mindset. Sometimes you can then see a concept path that was blocked before because you are overthinking things.
