How to Knit | Chunky Cabled Infinity Scarf

501 ratings | 28338 views
I'm back with another knitting pattern/video combo! This one is another request on how to knit an infinity scarf. Since I've already covered a lot of different knitting topics in my previous knitting videos, I thought it was about time to share with you one of my favorite aspects about knitting: cables! I love adding cabling to just about everything, because it instantly looks difficult. But, with a little bit of practice, it's not bad at all! I hope you guys like it as much as I do! ________________________________ CHECK OUT THESE LINKS TOO: Chunk Cabled Infinity Scarf Written Instructions: http://meganandpearls.blogspot.com/2015/11/how-to-knit-chunky-cabled-infinity-scarf.html My Knitting Playlist: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLQxUDfE89QJsNk-gRa4hHmJn3ClunByBP ________________________________ OTHER PLACES TO FIND ME: Follow me on Instagram! http://instagram.com/meganandpearls Come say hi on Twitter! http://www.twitter.com/meganandpearls See what's new on my blog! http://www.meganandpearls.blogspot.com Let's be friends on Facebook! https://www.facebook.com/meganandpearls Write me a letter! I'm kind of the same way except I use a double pointed needle because I don't have a cable needle.

I also noticed that you're using metal knitting needles. Do you prefer those over wood or plastic? If you do then you're just like me. I prefer metal knitting needles over wood or plastic because I find that the tips don't wear out as much as they do on the wood or plastic.

I used to do knitting tutorials on my channel but I stopped after I got my job. By the way, that is so amazing that you an do cabling without a cable needle. I didn't know that you could do that. You are so talented.

Beautiful scarf 😊 Thank you. I find sewing seams tedious so I'm knitting mine in a continuous round, that way I only have the ends to sew.

I'm unable to get the brand of wool you used just wondering what ply and how many grams per skein.

How long did it take you to make the scarf?

How many skeins of yarn did you need to make this?
Mia (1 year ago)
Hey Megan. Thanks so much for your beautiful videos. They are so helpful! :) Question: Is one skein 377 yards? So you used over 1000 yards of yarn in the making of this? :O That seems like a LOT of yarn, so I wanted to make sure. Thanks!

+Megan Breitweser Thanks! It's a beautiful scarf!
Megan Brightwood (2 years ago)
+Claire Timbrell I used three skeins.

Also, if the first three rows are knit stitch do you have to knit, purl, knit in alternating rows? Or do you just knit the first three rows and then switch to purl?
Lachlan Norman (2 years ago)
you do 3 knit rows 1 purl row then 3 knit 1 purl and so on ☺

I love this pattern, if I wanted to make the scarf a little less wide, how many cast-on stitches would I need to decrease by?
bleechrcreechrr (6 months ago)
I'm not an expert but i think you would just have to cast on by multiples of 4 for the cable part to work right (she does 120, you could do 100, 96, 92, 88, etc..). If you skip the cable part you could cast on any number because the count doesnt matter with knit and purl stitches.
Sarah Chang (2 years ago)
I wanted to do the same if it's to wide it takes to long to knit.
Shezia HT (2 years ago)
Wow this is such a great pattern! I can't wait to make this. Thanks!
