Crochet Circle or Infinity Scarf - with Ruby Stedman

7128 ratings | 887931 views
On the 2nd row & each row afterwards, you only crochet into the joining stitch (that stitch where you 'closed the 5 loops' before the chain 1. It makes a bit of a hole over the 5 loops - crochet in there only for the rest of the scarf. 1 Bernat Premium Orchid 198g, crochet hook 5.5mm(THE CIRCUNFERENCE IS 142cm x 19cm)

I love this infinity scarf thank you so much for sharing. I used a soft 5 weight so it is a nice weight, but still lacy looking. I also did the 12 rows and found that just the right width for me. Again thank you for the tutorial. :)

For anyone making this, SEE THE END OF THE VIDEO! I kept wondering why my rows were uneven and I didn't find out until the end that the ending stitches are at an angle. Also, how do you finish the scarf once you have all 12 rows?

nychuck (2 years ago)
Hello, I love this scarf and have tried to make it 4 or 5 times, but have been unsuccessful. Each time I make it the outer crochet stitches are bigger than the original chain that I started out; the stitches get more lose as I go. Can you tell me how to make a straight one?
Ruby Stedman (2 years ago)
I think you are increasing each time, here is the link off another one with a different color and you will see the stitch better.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CCY5td1MoFw

I made a black one with rich purple stripes, and I get so many compliments. So, I am now making one with some Red Heart super saver in pink camo for my mother-in-law. And I have started a crocheting group and this is sooooo easy for beginners that this will be a pattern I will teach, giving you the full credit for your work of course. Absolutely LOVE these scarves!
Ruby Stedman (3 years ago)
+Stephanie Shannon Lanyon Thanks Stephanie, I would love to see some pictures.
Kaela Taylor (3 years ago)

Jessica Wise (3 years ago)
Ruby!!! I love this design and I am a beginner trying my first infinity scarf. I have a quick question, when your putting the 2 chains together, you insert the book through the first space where you started but then do this pull through. just before you pulled through did you grab the yarn and pull that through both holes?
Ruby Stedman (3 years ago)
your welcome :-)
Jessica Wise (3 years ago)
Thank you!
Ruby Stedman (3 years ago)
+Jessica Wise Hi Jessica I'm sending you this link, it is the same stich but a different scarf, let me know if this one will help you to see the stich better.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CCY5td1MoFw

I'm attempting to do your pattern for my mother, it looks gorgeous! Btw, I looooove your accent! Makes watching your videos fun lol.
Ruby Stedman (3 years ago)
Thanks :-)
Reba Holtzclaw (3 years ago)
This is a beautiful scarf, but it is not for beginners. I had a hard time seeing the stitches, because of the color of yarn, you didn't show how to make the chain, and how to connect the two ends with out having them twisted. It is a beautiful scarf though.
Ruby Stedman (3 years ago)
Here is another one with different color,  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CCY5td1MoFw
Sofia S. (3 years ago)
Hi Ruby, thank you for your great tutorials. Can you please let me know how many meters of yarn did you use for the cowl?
Arnau Gol Karsunke (3 years ago)
I loved it! Thanks!!!
Ruby Stedman (3 years ago)
Your welcome :-)
LaTric Campfield-Brown (3 years ago)
I would like the pattern please, Email - [email protected]
Ruby Stedman (3 years ago)
This is all the instructions that I have. On the 2nd row & each row afterwards, you only crochet into the joining stitch (that stitch where you 'closed the 5 loops' before the chain 1. It makes a bit of a hole over the 5 loops - crochet in there only for the rest of the scarf.
Karen Maher (3 years ago)
Thank you Ruby!. This is lovely and you do a great job with the video.  I just made this and would like to make the ear warmer also. My scarf did not come out as lovely as yours but I am a beginner and it looks good. Do you have a link for the ear warmer?

Ashley G (3 years ago)
I'm interested in learning how to crochet. So I've decided to go out and buy yarn and needles but don't know what needle sizes are best for beginners. I see 10 inch 7 inch but I don't know what any of that means. Then I see people say 6.5mm or 5.5mm ?
Ruby Stedman (3 years ago)
That depends on where you live, different country's different hooks   for example Us G/6 is a 4.25mm a E/4 is a 3.50mm and so on. and is different for the Uk, you have to Google hooks size chart. Hope it help.
