As a beginning knitter, just tried it with the 19 us needles but it was hard for me! The yarn was so loose on them, I had to rip it out. Could I use another size needle and still make it work with the buttons?
Happee Knits (1 year ago)
+Marcia Morrow Hi Marcia. I'm sorry you are having a hard time. Size 19 needles can be a bit tricky to work with. You can use size 15 US needles, but you will have to probably use smaller button in order to thread through the yarn. If you use size 15 needles, try not to knit tight. You want the cowl to have some slack it in so that when you wear it, it doesn't sit straight up. You will also have to knit the cowl a little longer and wider to adjust for the smaller needles. I hope this helps. Please let me know! Ask any questions you like. I want your cowl to be perfect for you. 😊

Can this be worked on size 15 needles?
mb413 (2 years ago)
Thanks!
Happee Knits (2 years ago)
+mb413 Yes it can! The finished product will be tighter and not quite as relaxed. If you want to maintaim the width of the scarf, I would add at least 4 stitches to the cast on. Let me know if you have any more questions!

Wonderful tutorial <3! I wish it wasn't 5000 degrees down here in Australia right now! However in 6 months time this will come in handy! Super super cute xox

+Totallee.net Thank you. That masive cold front that I talked about finally came through Texas and it dropped the temp 50 degrees in a matter of hours. We are sitting at 14°F or -10°C. This cowl will come in handy!
