410 ratings | 80554 views
Learn to knit with Sassy Fabrics. This is a brand new trending yarn for 2013 and beyond. Instead of using yarn, you are using specialized fabrics to create the ultimate fashion statement. These scarves work up quick and make great gifts. All of our videos are sorted by categories which include yarn brands. For our complete list of categories here on YouTube, please click https://www.youtube.com/user/mikeyssmail/playlists. We broadcast from Nova Scotia, Canada. I follow and use USA terminology in stitch demonstrations in techniques and patterns. Be inspired with 1000’s of free crochet patterns through our website https://thecrochetcrowd.com. Patterns are sorted by categories, yarn brands and weight class of yarn. We also have dedicated videos for the hard of hearing and deaf communities. We have a small volunteer team that works quietly trailing behind me to update videos with confirmed transcripts. This transcript also allows for the languages to be changed to many other languages spoken around the world. Look for videos with the “Subtitles” with the video thumbnail or use our dedicated Closed Captioning Playlist. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VSgxfHRddhQ&list=PLbHEcdQw1SaRoZsyIdzPlQDOFsea_1cW-

I think that i will be giving this fabric a try as oppose to the sashay yarn. I tried knitting and crocheting with the sashay it was just too freaking hard to do. The sassy fabric really seems like my best bet with knitting scarfs next to regular yarn. I just hope that i could find this same fabric at my local Walmart store.:)

Plus I like it better because it doesn't look like a bath scrubbie lol. But I might even try the others because I like this soo much. Thanks RedHeart!

TIP! If you don't have a yarn winder like Mikey used in another video, I put my hank on a stand up paper towel holder and knitted from that. Now it doesn't come off as smoothly as the yarn winder but it doesn't tangle up and it beats unfolding it all the time . It worked for me so I hope it helps someone else. LOVE THIS SASSY FABRIC. Wish it came in more colors and was a Lil bit less price tho.

i love all your video,s they are all easy to follow

This is a really great yarn. I got two hanks of it my first time. The only problem with it is that it doesn't come out with the left side out. I had to reroll it. Maybe Red Heart should fix this in the future...But overall, I love this yarn and I hope to get more of it in the future! :)

I bought this Sassy Fabric at Walmart. I made a scarf in about 2 hours ( with a couple breaks). It was very easy to make  & I love the finished product. I'm going to make these for Christmas gifts.. My only problem was that my fabric was twisting. To fix this problem, I just wound my fabric onto a cardboard tube. This worked so much better.. I would request more fabric colors/styles..Thank you for a very good demonstration!

When I finished the scarf the lace was going in opposite directions on each side. Any tips on how to fix this?

Ok i got the sassy fabric to make this scarf and made it as your video shows but there is a big problem with this pattern ..sence there is a major difference in the fron and back of the fabric ..after its all made and you go to wear it around your neck ..one side is showing the right side of the material but on the other side it shows the bottom side of the material instead of the shiny side ..and even if you wrap it around your neck it still shows the wrong side of the fabric...HOW Do you make it where the wrong side is up on one side of the scarf ..it looks horrible???????

I bought quite a bit of this fabric recently at JoAnn Fabric store, if you have coupons or wait for the red heart yarn to go on sale like I did,  it's a good deal :)

Thanks, Mikey for another great tutorial. In the future, it'd be great to see your finished product in the videos. Can't always tell from the manufacturer's images what it will really look like . . . it's on the model, can't tell if it's been altered in any way in the wearing for the photography, etc.

Thank you Mikey! Now, I have to get the yarn.
babylover0990 (5 years ago)
use the crochet patterns for the sashay yarn, it is basically the same thing, just this "yarn" is made of fabric instead of yarn.
babylover0990 (5 years ago)
it is possible to crochet with it, it is a lot like the sashay yarn, so if you know how to crochet with the sashay yarn, you can with this, too.

Id like to see a crochet pattern for this fabric as well, but I wonder if it's even possible to do crochet with this type of "yarn."
