carmen roupp (1 year ago)
re-watching videos , love the way this scarf looks when on a black or dark blue back ground it makes it really pop.
carmen roupp (2 years ago)
oh  my goodness I love it , I was afraid to buy this kind of yarn because I wasn't sure how I would make any thing with such hole ie yarn you have showed me that I should not have been afraid to try using it, and making a scarf for spring will be so easy and cute at the same time. love your video's so much.

myraquilt (4 years ago)
what size crochet hook are you using?  Also are you going front to back on each stitch or doesn't it make a difference.  I had difficulty seeing which direction you were going in on all your stitches.  In the beginning it looked like you were alternating front to back then back to front.  I'm new at this craft so I need lots of help.
+myraquilt It does not matter what direction you go in.
Angela Ponder (4 years ago)
Nice,, I like that you only go through 6 times...   I'm going to try this way.  Thanks!
Crystal Johnson (4 years ago)
Love it...Want to try it...Can you do it a bit slower

Can this be turned into an infinity scarf?
Sanya Stratton (4 months ago)
That is what I was wondering too?

so easy!
Ozgrandmother (4 years ago)
do you  use all of the yarn to make one scarf? how much yarn do you need please ?
If you want to make a long scarf, use the entire ball... for a short ascot style, use about 1/2 of the ball.
Marcie Cumberland (5 years ago)
I've had some of this yarn for 2 years but was afraid to use it. Yesterday, my son,of all people, brought me a ball of it he found on sale table and thought I'd like. So I'm going to try it this afternoon. Thank you for such a clear and easy tutorial.
I bought some of this yarn about a year ago, but in Oz it's been too hot to do an arm knit scarf, which is what I bought it for! Here in Oz it's called Habana Mesh, & I got it in Big W. When pulled out gently it measures around 2.5 - 3 inches wide. Is that the same as your Sashay Yarn? I have never done crochet before, but watched a few tutes, I'm sure I could do this, watching you as I go.....I am gonna buy a crochet hook when I go shopping next!!  You are so inspiring Emi....thanks so much for this, it was like a Eureka moment when I saw this...I almost cried...I thought I had wasted my money! Hectanoogle to the rescue once again....Love..... Sylvia in Sydney x
+Hectanooga1 - Crochet, Knitting, Jewelry, Crafts, Cooking  Thanks Emi, I just Love your videos, now it's getting cooler, gonna try this as soon as I buy a hook....Blessings Sylvia.x
It does sound about the same as Sashay yarn.  There are several.. I can't remember the names at the moment.

Ebony Arts (3 years ago)
+msnicki52 and that is what bothers me when I crochet these scarves!!! I have tried to knit them, but that take me forever, bc I always end up messing up along the way!
Jackie Smith (5 years ago)

Hi Emi! I made my scarf and it turned out beautiful. How do you keep the yarn from twisting? Do you unravel it BEFORE you work with it?
Lisa Klee (5 years ago)
+Hectanooga1 While working with it. It wants to twist really easy. Do you unravel it before?
Hmmmm.... do you mean while working with it?  Or after the scarf is completed?
Lisa Klee (5 years ago)
Sorry, i forgot to ask: Are you weaving in and out?
Lisa Klee (5 years ago)
It doesn't matter if you weave in and out... I did, but it's not important.
Lisa Klee (5 years ago)
Hi Emi! Well, I'm gonna try this one. What size needle do you use? Thank you for your reply:)
Lisa Klee (5 years ago)
thank you. I am making it right now, and it's turning out beautiful. This yarn is very intimidating looking, but you've made this very easy to follow along! thank you again for another great tutorial:)
It doesn't matter what size hook, whatever you have on hand.
Lynne Hughes (5 years ago)
Thank you so much for the video. I could find the directions for the knit version but I couldn't find any instructions for the crochet which is what a lot of people do. Thank you again, I am busy making my scarf!
No, makes no difference at all... just easier to go back and forth.
mimi smith (5 years ago)
Thank you once again Emi!!! your amazing video helped so much to figure out how to make these ruffled scarfs. my question is... when you skip a stitch, I think I seen you pick up the next stitch from the front and then seen you pick a stitch from the back? does this make a difference which way the hook goes in? front or back?
cora nation (5 years ago)
Great video, as always, Emi. You inspire to the max! This quick/easy ruffle can be attached to any number of items to put a personal touch for gift giving. Thanks
Cindy Gardner (5 years ago)
Awesome! I was intimidated by this yarn but your video makes me want to rush out and go purchase it! Can't wait to do this project!
ailse491 (5 years ago)
Hi emi I would love it if you could make a vintage snood like the ladies wore in the 1940's so you can wear curls at the front and the snood starts from the front and you can tighten the back thanks emi love ur vids :))
Cher Larrabee (5 years ago)
Just bought my yarn can't wait to get it done.
I used a 6.5 mm hook, but any size will work!
CraftingMiMi (5 years ago)
Thanks so much for sharing I saw this yarn and left it at store cause I was afaid i had to knit...this is so easy what size hook did you use... I'm going back to store today so I can try for christmas gifts....as always thanks for your great videos. Shari
That's what I thought as well, until I finally bought some yarn and tried it. The one I made was really ascot style, but using the entire ball would surely be a very long scarf and would probably wrap around the neck 3 or 4 times. But it's really more economical to make these than I originally thought. (And with Michael's 40% off coupons, it would be a great deal!) I bought my ball at the fabric store while I was shopping there, but I usually try to use Michael's coupons for yarn.

As always u always have something great to show. I always thought that I would need like three of those things to make 3 scarves. now that I know I can make 2 or 3 that changes everything. My step daughter wears those kind to work, she says they are about 15-18dlls each. I kinda figured that much because they were prob using two balls. Wow now I can see that they (manufacturer) was prob using half a ball. Ive seen it used on skirts too. thanks for sharing, I love it n will be purchasing it soon.

Me gusta, el resultado es espectacular. Gracias
Oh, so glad to hear the video helped lizerne!!
I bet they would be hot sellers at craft fairs!!!
Yes, they are easy Trish... very little work for a beautiful finished accessory!!
Trish Bresolin (5 years ago)
Oh wow! Easy and beautiful :)
lizerne312 (5 years ago)
That is such an easier way to crochet those. I've never been able to crochet them the other way. Always had to knit to get them to work. Thanks going to try it.
Thanks Tina!!
Tina Hodgkins (5 years ago)
Thanks from aussie, the way you loop onto the hook gives a better ruffle, l've watched a couple of knitting ruffle scarfs but the way they feed the needles makes the ruffle wrap around itsself instead of loops
Thank you so much spiceness!!
Best tut I've seen so far, thanks!!
You can hun, check hobbycraft (a little pricey) But my local has it
You can buy it online... just google: Red Heart Yarn online
Thanks for sharing your experience yarngal! They do work up super quickly, don't they? And yes, make great gifts too!!
aliaaa (5 years ago)
I made a scarf with that exact yarn and they make such beautiful scarves! I love them and they make such great gifts too! All my friends I made them for love then so much! Thanks for the awesome video!
