The Absolute Slowest Jimi Style 12-Bar-Blues Backing Track in A [42 bpm!!!]

599 ratings | 97623 views
A 12 Bar Blues A7 D7 A7 D7 A7 E7 A7 Here's the thing about 12 Bar Blues: It's really kind of in 3 keys. The most common approach to soloing over the changes is to use minor pentatonic as a home base, but slightly changing it (by adding notes) to fit the current chord. Watch the scale diagrams closely, the chords (arpeggios) are on the bottom grid, and the pentatonic scale (with the extra chord tones in triangles) is on top. Just shoot for the triangles every now and then and you're golden! Please help support NYS and download multiple versions of this track here. Try to add hammer-ons, string rakes, palm mutes, pull-offs, bends, slides, vibrato, or whammy bar to as many notes as you can! Listen to the pros, I guarantee that's what they're doing, unless they're shredding at a million notes a second. ④ Most importantly: Learn some useful vocabulary! You must either copy some phrases from someone else, or come up with your own phrases to play. Music is a language with MANY dialects - you MUST learn the basics of the language to sound good, AND a the idiosyncrasies of the dialect to sound hip! That, or you're some kind of genius who automatically knows what do do (doubtful) so don't be lazy! Learn some basic blues licks, they will take you far! I learned some Dave Gilmour and Jimi Hendrix licks 20 years ago and I still play 'em all the time! ✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧ ♫ About ♫ My name is Renzo, I make these tracks. loves this channel. What does you subscription service offer? I known it uses bandcamp but are there video like these that change scales with the chord changes?
Now YOU Shred (1 year ago)
At the moment you get all the tracks streaming and downloadable, most are way longer than the youtube jams, and there are a bunch of exclusive tracks that you can't get anywhere else. Soon there will be some videos and extras - AND there's a big surprise I can't talk about in the works too! It's also a great way to throw a little change my way for making these videos and tracks, which takes a long time and pays about a dime an hour...

Brilliant, looking forward to playing along with a lot more of your stuff. Minor suggestion would be show the current chord name and add fret numbers.

Can some explain to me how to read the scale? Because I have no idea what I'm looking at
Now YOU Shred (1 year ago)
Start by just playing the circles on the top grid, then start to work in the triangles, which will help you play over the chord changes.
Gp Pa (1 year ago)
Thank you very much, Renzo! A newbie question: Why does the diagram keep changing for the same scale? For example, Am pentatonic stays Am pentatonic but the displayed notes change.
Now YOU Shred (1 year ago)
Those are optional notes you can add to the pentatonic scale to hit the chord changes a little better than just pentatonic.

That's maybe the first time i comment a Youtube video ever, but Geez! Thank you so much for all this awesome work man. Rly nice to learn and practice modes and so on (specially when you can't afford to plug your amp at 2 in the morning). Keep up the great work!
