Very informative! But how do you print each signature? The print booklet option only prints saddle stitch?
Design Like a Pro (3 months ago)
Thanks! The print booklet option has 5 options: 2-up saddle stich, 2-up perfect bound, 2-up consecutive, 3-up consecutive and 4-up consecutive.

This was very informative. I am publishing my first magazine in September and I use InDesign. I didn't realize about the page counts.
Great tutorials, thanks for the efforts. Can you please help with tables for upcoming events, i want to list events with info like start and end dates and times, venue, and discription with an image or logo. Calendar table is not ok as events might be days apart. Would appreciate any tips.

I designed a booklet, and when it came out of printer, colors are much darker than my original design, by the way, this is not my first time to design such thing. I have no clue what could be the reason. !!!!

Thanks, I will try this. But I have to mention that my entire design is set to CMYK. However, I will double check next time before I send anything to the printer. Will try a different printer as well to see if there is any difference in the quality of print. Thank you all again, very appreciated.

desktop printer mimic screen, they print RGB. Best test is either convert it to CMYK and i always make all image 1.1 or 1.08 light in the mid point of a levels adjustment.

+Design Like a Pro well, i just did that with a color laser printer. Colors out of my printer way much better than the one i received as a final print. I did check the profile, everything seems okay and done correctly. This is not my first time. However, i think dome wrong with printer itself, could be!!!! Anyway, thank you for taking the time to reply, all of you.

khalid Alamoodi Are you comparing your original design on screen vs final print? Monitors have backlighting that are brighter than a final CMYK print. Often times they will appear slightly darker. Try to print a test on your own printer first to get an idea of how it will look away from your monitor.

the rgb color profile must be change to cmyk

I like to share theory and additional info for beginning designers, especially in this type of lesson. If you want to get right to the tips, go to my page count tip at 2:58 and my page signatures tip at 6:36. Thanks for watching, and keep designing! -Nicki
