Architect Gillian Green gave this small, dated kitchen an update in both form and function thanks to bistro-style finishes, smart storage options and a 250-square-foot addition. While the home was well-proportioned, the kitchen was particularly small. By expanding the kitchen into the homeowners' backyard, Gillian Green was able to give her clients the space they needed. A black and white colour palette brings cohesiveness to the newly opened space and creates a classic bistro-style feel. The white subway tile backsplash and black-and-white mosaic floor tiles, inspired by European bakeries, complement the aesthetic. Gillian added storage with a large kitchen island, along with an array of cabinets and drawers. Floor-to-ceiling metal glass doors overlook the backyard, and an oval Saarinen table complete with a curved banquette and bentwood x-back chairs provide the perfect dining space.

Learn how to make pasta in red and white sauce. Pasta is undoubtedly a comfort food at its best. Chef Ruchi Bharani brings you an easy, hassle-free and extremely delicious pasta recipe that calls for a variety of flavorful ingredients that blend beautifully in red and white sauce and taste delicious. Ingredients: 1 cup milk 100g Penne Pasta 2 tomatoes 1 tbsp red chilli flakes 1 tbsp garlic - chopped 1 small onion, finely chopped 1 capsicum - chopped 1 zcchini - chopped 1 1/2 tbsp tomato sauce few basil leaves 2 tbsp cheese 1/2 tsp dry oregano 1 tbsp fresh celery Salt to taste Method: - In a pan, heat butter. - Add the plain flour to it and cook for a few seconds. - Once it changes the colour slightly, add the milk. Keep whisking and bring it to a boil. Cook it until it's thick. - Once the sauce is thick, get it off the flame. - In another pan, heat butter. - Once the butter melts, add the chopped onion and let it cook for a few seconds. - Add the garlic paste, chopped capsicum and zucchini and let them cook for a few seconds. - Add the tomato pulp to the above ingredients and let it cook for atleast 7 - 8 minutes. - Add the ketchup, fresh basil leaves, dried oregano and red chilli flakes and stir well. - Add some water and stir. - Add the white sauce to the above ingredients and mix well. - Add the cheese and salt and mix well. - Add the boiled penne pasta to the sauce and stir well. - The delicious pasta is ready to be served. Ingredients: 250 gms French beans chopped and boiled 1/2 cup freshly grated coconut Few curry leaves 1 tsp mustard seeds 1/2 tsp coriander and cumin seeds powder 1/4 tsp red chilli powder Salt to taste 1 tbsp oil 1 tbsp sesame seeds Coriander leaves Cashew Nut pieces Method: - Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds, sesame seeds, cashew nut pieces. Allow it to get some color. - Add curry leaves, french beans, red chilli powder, coriander and cumin seed powder, coriander leaves and salt to taste. I have had a number of requests to show me using the Bosch mixer for recipes. So since I was going to make some sub rolls for a steak sandwich dinner I thought I would get Rick and turn on the camera! This recipe is my stone baked Italian bread recipe that I have published previously on my website. However for this I will re publish it under this name as well for easy reference. The trick here is in the shaping. Most will just roll the dough into a snake and let it rise and call it good. however, in many cases, your end product is thin and dense. The way you form the dough is as important as the way you make the dough. The technique for forming these rolls is similar to the way French bakers form a baguette loaf. Flattening out, folding and pinching then rolling the dough into itself. When making a baguette, however this will be repeated more than one time in an effort to make a long skinny loaf of bread. In truth the baguette will most likely use a similar, if not smaller amount of dough as these sub rolls. So I hope that this will encourage you to try making a batch of your own sub rolls! While they are all country style kitchens, the diversity in colors, size, materials and layout is huge. There are both big and small country kitchens. You'll see dark, light, white, wood (lots of wood) and brighter colors such as splashes of yellow, red, orange, blue and green. This video also showcases some fairly dark country kitchens with black and dark browns. Some of these darker designs include stone work and brick in the kitchen design materials. Step by step video on how to make French Choux pastry. With this recipe you will be able create delicious Choux puffs and eclairs very easily. Choux pastry is extremely versatile and is widely used in France for all king of dessert. the Choux pastry recipe can be made sweet or savory for aperitifs nibbles for example. Today we are looking at the a sweet version of the Choux pastry. Quantities used in this video: 3 organic eggs (for the dough) 1 egg (for the glazing) 200 ml of water (6.76 fluid OZ) 100 grams of plain flour (0.80 us cups) ( 80 grams of butter (5.5 tablespoons) 10 grams of Sugar (2 and a half teaspoons) A pinch of Salt To cook the choux pastry Once "Laid out" on the baking tray, cook the puffs (Choux) in a oven at 200 Celsius (390 Fahrenheit) for 15 to 20 minutes depending on the size of the puffs or eclairs.. When the puffs have a nice golden color, put the temperature down to 175 Celsius (350 Fahrenheit), open the oven door slightly and let the puffs or eclairs sit in the oven for another 5 minutes (make sure you leave the oven door just slightly open) . This is to avoid the collapsing of the puff. After 5 minutes take the puffs or eclairs out of the oven and let them cool down a bit before using them. http://www.convert-me.com/en/convert/cooking/

Here is a great recipe for Bananas Foster French Toast that is both simple and delicious! It is also a perfect thing to make for Mother's Day breakfast or brunch. Basic French Toast is glammed up with a delicious caramel sauce with bananas, vanilla and rum extract, very similar to Bananas Foster, made famous by Brennan's Restaurant in New Orleans. This is not flambe'd but it is utterly irresistible! If you are not a fan of bananas, you can sub out thinly sliced apples to create a caramel apple French toast. You may have to cook the apples in the caramel a little longer than the ripe bananas but it will be just as amazing!
