It's a Consumer-Driven World - What It Means for Your Business

02:17
Why do you need a consumer-driven supply chain? Today's consumers want the right price, the best quality, and they want it now! What does that mean for your business? Your business success - or failure - eventually depends on whether your end-consumers are satisfied. All businesses exist to eventually serve an end-consumer. Shouldn't your company be doing all of the right things to ensure success -- and the consumer's satisfaction? But few businesses are actually driven by what consumers actually want... ► Subscribe to our channel here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCq1YT1kWKED0wsVdluDi3JA?sub_confirmation=1 Follow us online here: LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/company/15575/ Website: http://www.onenetwork.com/ Blog: http://supplychainbeyond.com/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/OneNetworkEnterprises/ Twitter: https://twitter.com/onenetwork

Growth hacking APIs What role do APIs play in your growth strategy

19:37
Vanessa Meyer - Context.io - 21/10/2014 There’s been lots of buzz in the tech startup space about “growth hacking” – what is it? how is it related to development? how is it related to marketing? At it’s core, growth hacking is about finding a strategy for growth within the parameters of scalability and replicability, driven by product and inspired by data. Growth hacking’s core is based in marketing but driven by product. Once the definition is clear, the question then becomes: without a UI to lean on, how does one “growth hack” an API? At last year’s Nordic API conference, Guillaume Balas from 3Scale presented several typologies of an API, namely API is the product, API projects the product, API promotes the product, and API powers the product. This presentation will elaborate on and reframe those typologies in the context of marketing and growth hacking of an API. We will examine the circumstances where an API is actually a growth hack in of itself, and where it is in need of growth hacking in order to make the business model behind it succeed. The presentation will use core concepts of strategic marketing – such as positioning, pricing, targeting, promotion, product and distribution – to create a framework for either growth hacking an API or developing an API as a key tactic in a growth strategy. The presentation was recorded at the 2014 Platform Summit in Stockholm, Nordic APIs second annual conference. Find out more at http://nordicapis.com/

Laszlo Bock on how Google is changing the nature of work

20:11
Learn more about Google's data-driven HR at rework.withgoogle.com Laszlo Bock, Senior Vice President of People Operations at Google, kicked off Google’s first-ever re:Work event by talking about the potential to make work better for people everywhere. This is a huge opportunity because we spend more time at work than we do anything else in our lifetime. What if we could improve the experience of work, even just a little, for everyone? Bock offered a glimpse into Google’s own approach. People often think working at Google is about bean bags, free food, and lava lamps, but it’s really about having a mission that matters – doing work that is meaningful and connected to something bigger. Google starts with the belief that people are good and will do the right thing. From there, it’s easy to give employees freedom, access to information, and autonomy, which allows them to go out and create amazing things. Just as Google’s product development is driven by user feedback and data, Google’s HR policies are informed by feedback and data. Google uses science, collects data, and runs experiments internally to determine how best to make employees as happy, healthy, and productive as possible. From dissecting the attributes that make a great manager to nudging employees to take advantage of the company’s 401(k) matching, Google uses robust, academic-quality analytics to drive HR decisions.

The Quest of the self-running Solid State driven Power Generator

04:56
Website link: https://www.vorticesdynamics.org.uk Hello everybody, I like to give you an update of the next major project I work on. We will look into solid state driven coil systems and arrays. Analyze power consumption versus power generation. Identify parameters for scalability and highlight designs which are not efficient. I reference here to some technologies, known to some. Example is Steven Marks “TPU”, John Bedini solid state battery charger. Richard Willis, “Magnacoaster” energy systems and battery charger. In the first phase I analyze the performance of the so called Isolation transformer I present here. Each coil will be driven via an amplifier module. We compare the single module energy delta versus the multiple module deltas. John Bedini is using it and I will highlight the pros and cons using such a coil. I move then on to build and use high frequency transformer to convert the excess energy we capture into usable energy. You have seen some videos in the past where I demonstrated such a transformer to convert the power output from a Tesla Coil. The materials of these cores I use are highly specialized and not available for the mainstream audience. They are in use for highly efficiency power transformer stations between power plants or in use for high power laser application or in CT scanners. I will offer my members to purchase such cores via my website. Benchmarks will be created using different core materials and provide the delta between power input and output. The energy level used is a combination of high frequency and high voltage sine and pulse wave. I have here as an example one core which is based on Nanocrystalline Cores or the branding named Nanoperm®. I used them already in my motor applications for Steorn and the Bedindi SSG systems and demonstrated the superior quality compared to any other core material available on the market. This core will be complemented with amorphous metal alloys which yield virtually no losses due to eddy current, hysteresis or load. The product definition is Metglas. For driving the amplifier modules we move on to use the Arduino mega 2560 controller. I will dedicate a larger section to this circuit. This was first shown in stages with the Quadratron amplifier from Tantratron. I will drive a load from the charging battery and demonstrate if it is feasible to do that with less energy required to drive the load compared to the load power consumption. We will then focus on system arrays where we enter into the realm of nature as the architect. I like to remind you on my series I produced of the asynchronous power distribution or the Golden Mean (Ratio) and the Fibonacci sequence. By following these building plans we optimize the energy flow the way it is meant to be by nature. Please support my efforts to provide you with all the test results and information to build your own energy devise by becoming a member. Please read the FAQ section under About and simply click on the subscribe button to the membership level you desire. The next video will provide you with the multifilar isolation transformer coil performance. www.vorticesdynamics.com

Lean Analytics: making products better

06:52
Analytics data provides a measurable way of looking at how a product is being used. According to Alistair Croll, analyst and co-author of Lean Analytics, the ever-increasing abundancy of data, combined with the relative ease of analysing that data, is "bringing analytics to the forefront". For Croll, the way we use analytics (or, metrics) needs streamlining in order to make the most of data. “We live in a world where we are inundated with information and the ability to make sense of that information is a survival skill in the 21st century.” – Alistair Croll, analyst and author Given the abundancy of statistics in the digital age, Croll stresses how we should only concentrate on the most relevant data. As the BBC's Amanda Dahl, delivery manager for myBBC, explains, it can be appealing to focus on the amount of hits your site receives but it is much more useful to know why users are visiting or what would improve their engagement; "It's very tempting to tout your vanity metrics... But it doesn't really help us with figuring out what our next iteration will be." An iterative approach is at the heart of Lean Analytics. This means firstly deciding on the "one metric that matters", as Croll puts it. This is the single metric that most needs improving in order to ensure a product's success. Once this is decided, a hypothesis can be made about how to improve that metric and an experiment set up to test it out. Then you measure the results, see whether you achieved what you set out to do, and this cycle can be repeated. “We do small iterative releases of new tweaks to the product and tiny changes.” – Jessica Siegel, digital analytics, BBC iPlayer "Our whole approach to analytics is that build, measure, learn cycle," Adam Bailin, digital analytics manager, BBC, explains, "particularly with products like iPlayer and iWonder where the analytics has been thought about at the very outset.” The key, according to Croll, is to pick metrics that when measured will change your behaviour. Jessica Siegel, responsible for digital analytics for BBC iPlayer, describes how the product team are able to make small tweaks and use analytics to review whether users’ engagement improves. “What makes it Lean is you use a little bit of data to inform your decision; you try something out. And in trying that out, you gain more data.” The future, according to Dahl, lies in using specifically tailored data to improve the most important metric for each BBC online product. Cait O’Riordan, VP of product at Shazam, stresses the need to be constantly on top of analytics, measuring data over time and identifying trends. “It’s something that you have to really live and breathe," she explains, "but actually the data is so exciting.” http://bit.ly/CoT_Analytics

Mangialardo - Agile, Lean Startup and Market-Driven

54:58
"Our business is creating software products. We know that Value means providing Benefits to the customers We got a new, great idea, a vision for a new product that we believe it will be a groundbreaking innovation. We have a very well working and well-managed Agile methodology in place since 2003. Our team is composed of very smart people who work very well together in a self-directed manner. We have built an d shipped our product. Several times. We have tweaked functionalities and fixed bugs. Everything works as intended However, the conclusion we have to draw is always the same…Our intended customers don’t like our product. They simply won’t buy it. " Using Eric Ries’ words, we have well executed a plan to achieve failure." Why? Because we did not know what our customers wanted. Or, worse, what they actually needed. We did not know who our customers were precisely supposed to be. This talk is aimed to inspire product organizations - Agile/Lean or otherwise organized teams - to connect to the business. In other words, market-driven. I feel that despite the fantastic growth of Agile, there is often still a gap between successfully building software and commercial success in the market. It's beyond the "MVP". Pragmatic methodologies and real examples will be used.

Cadillac+ATS+Coupe+2015 SD

01:10
Cadillac introduced the all-new 2015 ATS Coupe, a quicker and more personal addition to the award-winning ATS product line. Designed to be lighter, more agile and more engaging than its competitors, it extends Cadillac's product-driven growth and the brand's tradition of dynamic luxury Coupes. Cadillac's first-ever compact luxury Coupe goes on sale this summer, offering drivers the choice of rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive, and the power from a 2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder or a 3.6L six-cylinder. In all combinations, Cadillac ATS Coupe takes advantage of its lightweight and strong structure to deliver exhilarating performance with efficiency, with a segment-leading power-to-weight ratio. "The 2015 Cadillac ATS Coupe is a natural step in the brand's progression, and another fun-to-drive and technologically advanced product for a new generation of drivers extending our target groups," said Uwe Ellinghaus, chief marketing officer, Global Cadillac. "It is an exclusively distinctive American alternative, unique in its class, yet delivering a sporty and sophisticated driving experience rivaling the world's best." Like the sedan, the ATS Coupe's driving dynamics are rooted in mass efficiency, which helps make it one of Cadillac's lightest and most agile models ever - and the lightest car in the compact luxury Coupe segment. The 2.0L Turbo engine is upgraded from the current ATS sport sedan to deliver nearly 14 percent more torque, taking it to 295 lb-ft (400 Nm). This gives the standard ATS Coupe an advantage in power and weight over similarly equipped Coupes such as the BMW 428i. Greater torque means greater pulling power, for a greater feeling of responsiveness at low speeds, and helps the Cadillac ATS Coupe achieve an estimated 0-60 time of 5.6 seconds. "More power with less weight is always a better combination for performance, and the ATS Coupe offers one of the best power-to-weight ratios in the segment, making it feel lighter, more direct and responsive," said David Leone, Cadillac executive chief engineer. "Engineers vetted the ATS's performance on the track, and the Coupe benefits from that exhaustive validation - all matched with Cadillac's trademark refinement." Elements that contribute to the Cadillac ATS Coupe's balanced performance and responsive characteristics include: Nearly perfect 50/50 weight balance and low center of gravity Five-link independent rear suspension featuring lightweight, high-strength steel and efficient straight link designs A multi-link double-pivot MacPherson-strut front suspension with direct-acting stabilizer bar Underbody aerodynamic shields Premium, belt-driven electric variable-effort steering gear from ZF Steering Systems Brembo front brakes Eighteen-inch aluminum wheels Available all-wheel drive. A driver-adjustable FE3 sport suspension is available and includes Magnetic Ride Control, a mechanical limited-slip differential, high-capacity engine cooling system and 18-inch summer-performance tires. Magnetic Ride Control is a real-time damping system that delivers more precise body motion control. It "reads" the road and can change damping every millisecond.

The Scion name, meaning the descendant of a family or heir, refers both to the brand's cars and their owners.

This presentation was recorded at GOTO Amsterdam 2014 http://gotoams.nl Stefan Tilkov - SOA & REST Authority, innoQ Founder ABSTRACT These days, REST has become truly fashionable. No matter what system, product or service we look at, everything claims to offer a "REST API". But as is often the case with technical concepts that gain acceptance, many instances just stick the label on something that really doesn't meet expectations. New From the Ground Up Engineers seeing the product for the first time in real life are normally amazed by its small size and light weight compared with traditional expansion devices. The ETS Colibri® valve is typically 80% lighter than current solutions in the market today. This is very significant for the environment. Built-in Flexibility The new ETS Colibri® has so much to offer when you want full control without compromising on versatility. The product was designed from the outset with the user in mind. Getting Your Niche Right with Eben Pagan

07:19
Click here for your FREE training program from Eben: http://goo.gl/wbKOAd SUBSCRIBE http://www.youtube.com/subscription_center?add_user=getaltitude Getting your niche right. I think that most business failure comes down to getting the market wrong. Your market is the combination of your target customers, and the products and services that you're going to sell. This combination of people who have money, that they then trade for products and services that they need - creating this flow of value back and forth - this is a market. Your customer + your product = your market. You can control who you choose to market to. You can choose your target audience and you can choose what to market. Your niche is such a critical element of your business because it's the beginning of this equation. If you get the niche wrong nothing can help you. If you get the niche right it makes everything else easy. When you target the right niche you set yourself up to win beforehand. Let's talk about Niche Psychology and the psychology of targeting a successful niche. In a conversation that I had with my good friend John Carlton, he told me something that stuck with me ever since. He said the hardest thing to get the human animal to do is to take out their wallet and give you their money. Because their money represents all the time and effort and the energy expended in their life. So learning the art of how to get the human animal to take out its wallet and give you money in exchange for the valuable products and services that you offer is really a skill that's worth cultivating. A mistake that a lot of folks make as they are targeting their niche is choosing a niche that sounds ""fun"" to them. If you choose a niche that just sounds fun or interesting you're probably not going to be talking to people who are highly motivated and who are going to be likely to take out their wallet and trade you the money that's inside of it for what it is that you're offering. If you want the highest chance of making money selling information you must get psychology on your side. Niche psychology is about finding where people are being triggered emotionally. And when someone's triggered emotionally then they're directed to go find solutions to their needs. If a person isn't triggered emotionally, then they are not motivated to go out and solve their problem. If you want to get a person to pay you for your knowledge then identify where they are emotionally triggered and driven to find a solution. And this leads us to our next idea which is that niches are actually needs. Stop thinking in niches and start thinking in needs. We're thinking about needs that people have that drive them to take action. When you start basing all of your niche and your product decisions on needs that people are having, you dramatically increase your chances of success. Another quote that I say often goes like this... Look for customers who are looking for you. When you stop thinking in niches and you start thinking in needs, now you're starting to look for people who are looking for you. Before a person has gotten to the point where they're so activated and so motivated that they're out looking for a solution, it's very hard to convince them to trade their money for what it is that you're selling. In fact, you have to do a lot of selling and persuasion and talking them into it and that's a hard game. And it's not one that works for very many professionals or business people at all. So when you look for people who are looking for you, you go inside your mind and you start asking the question, "what is the solution that people are already looking for?" You start thinking about where people are at when they've gotten themselves to the point where they are activated, they're motivated, they've started looking. And you start thinking about where they're looking and what they're searching for and how they're looking to find a solution. By the way this is one of the reasons why I love search engine marketing so much.. both paper click and SEO... because by definition, people who are online, looking at a search engine, typing in a search term, are looking for a solution. I think that search marketing and search engine marketing whether again its paper click or it's SEO is one of the greatest tool that's ever been developed for market testing and for doing research. You can go online right now and I you can use Google's free set of tools that allow you see how many people are searching for a particular topic. To see the power of this you might pause the video right now, go to Google, type in "Google keyword tool" and just start playing around with it typing various search terms and phrases. And you'll get a feel for how many people are searching for that particular phrase. So search engine marketing is a very powerful tool for helping you target a successful niche. Look for customers who are looking for you.
