TROUBLE SHOOTING GUIDE HERE: http://bit.ly/2LsVtBO INGREDIENTS 3 Egg Whites ¼ cup white sugar (50 g) 2 cups confectioners sugar (200 g) 1 cup almond flour (120 g) (SEE NOTE BELOW) pinch of salt ¼ tsp cream of tartar (2 ml) * You can omit if needed, just may take a bit longer to reach stiff peaks but the recipe will still work) NOTE: If you cannot find almond flour where you live, check out this great video from my new friend Dzung at Honeysuckle Catering and she'll show you a great easy way to make it yourself! http://bit.ly/WZQ1fZ RASPBERRY BUTTER CREAM 1/4 cup salted butter (60g) 3/4 cup powdered sugar (75 g) 1 cup (150 g) fresh raspberries, worked through a sieve to extract 3 tbsp of juice METHOD: Preheat oven to 300F degrees Beat egg whites until foamy, then add salt, cream of tartar and white sugar for 8-10 mins. TIP: #1 eggwhites should be room temp. To create room temp eggs, submerge in warm water for 5 mins. Whip until they form a peak that stands upright. Think Seattle Space needle. Then add the food coloring. TIP#2 Color does fade as it cooks, so do a shade or two darker than you want them to be. TIP#3 Sift almond flour, and powdered sugar. What remains will be the larger lumps of almond pieces. Just discard those, or use them to snack on :) You want a really fine powder mixture to create a smooth and pretty on top to your cookie. Fold flour/sugar mixture into the egg white mixture. TIP#4 This is where all your hard work can really go wrong. Under mix and your macaroons will be lumpy and cracked when the bake with no feet, over mix and your macaroons will be flat and won't have feet, the mark of a well-made macaron. In my experience 65-75 turns of your spatula when folding is about the right amount of time. But again, it can be tricky, depends on how strong you are, Ha! So it can take a few tries to get it right. But when you do, the trumpets will blare and you will feel SO accomplished! Transfer batter to a pastry bag. Pipe out 1 inch rounds on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. TIP#5: tap the pan hard at least 2-3 times to release the air bubbles. This will prevent the tops of your macaroons from cracking. TIP#6 Let them sit out for 20-30 mins, or up to an hour if you want. This will allow them time to dry out a bit before hitting the hot oven. They should be "tacky" to the touch, but not stick to your fingertips. This is another important step to assuring your macarons develop feet! When they dry out they can't spread out in the oven, and are forced to rise up. That's what creates the feet! Bake for 20 mins. DO NOT UNDER BAKE, even if they look done! Otherwise they will stick to your tray. Meanwhile mix the buttercream. Whip butter with an electric mixer until pale and fluffy. Slowly add sugar. Then place sieve on top of a bowl the same size. Work raspberries through the sieve with a spatula, pushing them through, mashing them around until you extract their juice. You want 3 tablespoons of juice. Add juice to buttercream, and whip until combined. Transfer to a pastry bag, fitted with a small tip (about ¼ " in diameter) Reverse cookie shells on their backs, and pipe a small mound of filling on one of them. Top with the other shell et Voila! If not eating right away, keep refrigerated. ABOUT THIS CHANNEL I'm Beth Le Manach and I believe food tastes better when shared. A French Country Kitchen
Auvers-sur-Oise, France This is in the house which formerly belonged to Doctor Gachet and his family, who looked after Vincent van Gogh at the end of his life. The artist visited here, painted the garden and the surroundings, and died nearby. Maison du Docteur Gachet 78, rue du Docteur Gachet 95430 Auvers-sur-Oise FRANCE [email protected] Telephone 01 30 36 81 27 There is no charge for admission. www.valdoise.fr To get here from Paris, you can take the RER Line H from Gare du Nord. You then find a train every 15 minutes in the direction of Pontoise. From Pontoise, you take a train line H toward Creil. These run every 30 minutes. From there, you could also take the train toward Valmondos which runs every 30 minutes. It's a bit daunting but as there are some gîtes (furnished flats and houses) you could rent in Auvers and several historical and cultural points there, it could be worth it if you don't want to drive in by automobile. It takes no more than an hour from Paris, in general. Tourists come from around the world to see this place, and I've been to it a few times and can see why. Soon I'll be visiting Arles for more Vincent van Gogh tourism. Please join me on this channel or on SLOBOMOTION or on Dailymotion under "LisaFalour." Choosing Your Kitchen Renovation Design Style
Kitchens are arguably the most important room in your home; after all it is where you gather to nourish your body and soul at all hours of the day. Because of this, the design of a kitchen can really make or break your home's style, so there is a lot at stake with a kitchen renovation. In terms of style you generally have 2 options -- traditional or modern. Within these there are several subcategories, but generally when you are looking at a kitchen it will either have a more classic, traditional look or it has the contemporary feel of a modern design. Traditional Kitchen Design Country, provincial, classic, cottage, rustic, Tuscan -- whatever you want to call it, there is a warm and comfortable feel that comes with these sorts of traditional kitchens. These kitchens often feature timber cabinets, decorative edging, large freestanding cookers, appliances hidden behind panels and ornate taps and handles. The best thing about a traditional kitchen design is that, while you can make sure it has a contemporary finish and modern features; the style has an enduring appeal. Traditional kitchens evoke a welcoming and homely feeling; which is what kitchens are all about for many people. This kitchen renovation recently completed by Room Four is a French Provincial inspired labour of love. From the decorative edging on the granite benchtops and architraves to the hand-selected handles and showpiece cooker, this kitchen has a dazzling range of features that all create that high-end yet traditional feel. The appliances on show are minimal, with only the cooker and fridge visible. The dishwasher and microwave have been cleverly hidden behind cabinetry to make sure this kitchen maintains an authentic feel. This traditional kitchen works well alongside the existing features of this home, particularly the stained glass windows, and the owners just can't get enough of the compliments from visitors! Homemade Hawaiian Style Sweet Bread! Noreen's Kitchen
Greetings! Homemade is always better and when we enjoy things that we have purchased from the grocery store for years, we don't think about making them for ourselves. This is the case with the King's Hawaiian Sweet Bread. It is excellent, but it does contain some ingredients that I choose to stay away from like hydrogenated oils and Microcrystaline Cellulose (code name for sawdust). So I set out to make my own. It turned out amazing and delicious and tastes better than the bread from the store. I hope that you will give this a try and I hope you love it! Happy Eating! Country kitchen decorating
French country kitchens are the most rural cottage -- style kitchens. They are equipped with a coating. The most common color palette is white-shades like egg-shell and off white. Pure white is definitely not recommended because this provides a sterile impression, which is not the intention in rural kitchens. How to Make Easy Homemade New York Style Cheesecake - No Fuss Recipe
http://cookingwithsugar.com FULL RECIPE AND MEASUREMENTS ARE HERE CLICK ON SHOW MORE!!! Right Below It is possible to make the ultimate most delicious homemade "New York Style" cheesecake right in your own kitchen. This is one of the best and simplest cheesecake recipes that you will find and you will WOW your family and friends in only a few easy steps. My cheesecake recipe is perfect for every holiday or just a weekend dinner. I even have a tip below on how to make this for Passover -See Cooks notes. This Ultimate Cheesecake is easy to prepare and will rival that of any great restaurant or deli. They'll think you bought it but you'll beam with pride when you tell them you made it at home! Watch my video, make your own and send me a comment to let me know how it went! Start to Finish: 5 hours (includes cooling time) Prep Time: 30 minutes Servings: 16 Ingredients: Crust 1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs 1/4 cup of sugar 8 tablespoons butter, (1 stick) melted Filling 4 (8 oz) packages of cream cheese, softened 1 1/4 cup sugar 2 teaspoons vanilla 2 tablespoon lemon juice 5 eggs 2 tablespoons of flour Sour Cream Layer 1 pint of sour cream 1/3 cup of sugar 1/2 teaspoon vanilla 1 tablespoon lemon juice Garnish (optional) Fresh sliced strawberries Strawberry sundae syrup Whipped cream -- See my video for how to make home made Whipped Cream Directions: HEAT oven to 325°F. In a bowl mix graham cracker crumbs, sugar and butter, press onto bottom and slightly up the sides of 10-inch spring-form pan. Bake in oven for 10 minutes. While crust is baking, make the filling by beating the cream cheese, sugar, vanilla and lemon with electric mixer until smooth and well blended. Add eggs, 1 at a time, mixing at medium speed after each egg is added until all is blended making sure to scrape down the batter with a spatula. Add flour and mix until smooth. Remove crust from oven, but keep oven on and let the crust cool for 5-10 minutes then pour the filling over crust. Bake for about 50-55 minutes or until cake is cooked but has a slight giggle in the center. Remove from oven, again keeping oven on and set aside for 5-10 minutes so it cools slightly while you make the sour cream topping. In a small bowl mix the sour cream, sugar, vanilla and lemon. Spoon over the top of the cheesecake and spread evenly. Put cake back in oven and bake for 10 minutes. Remove from oven and loosen cake from rim of pan with knife. Cool before refrigerating. Cover and refrigerate at least 3 hours or over night. Before serving, remove rim from pan and plate and slice cake. Garnish each slice with fresh strawberries and a drizzle of strawberry sundae syrup along with some whipped cream. Cooking Tips: Wrapping foil around the bottom of the pan helps to keep anything from dripping out while baking. It is best to store the cheesecake in the spring-form pan until ready to serve. The pan will protect it from getting bumped in the refrigerator. Slice cake using a hot, wet knife, wiping knife blade clean in between slices. Store leftover cheesecake in the refrigerator. Whipped Cream Cheese can be replaced for half of the recipe. I sometimes like to use 2 whipped and 2 regular 8 oz. packages. Other options for the crust: You can replace the Graham Crackers with Chocolate cookies or vanilla wafer, If making this recipe for Passover you can use crushed macaroons or crushed matzo for the crust in place of the Graham Crackers. If you need to replace the flour in the recipe you can use potato starch. See more tips at http://cookingwithsugar.com
