Logo design, website design and brand identity for Tanya's Soup Kitchen

00:53
See more of Tracy's logo and website design at http://www.insightdesign.com/index.htm and at http://www.logodesignwichita.com/ The Tanya's Soup Kitchen logo design is Tanya herself and a bowl of soup in the same image. The Tanya's Soup Kitchen logo design is a visual metaphor to show Tanya is the equal of a true artist. Tanya puts herself into her creations, her art, her soup. In the logo design Tanya's face is the bowl, her mouth is the spoon, her eyes are splashes/droplets and her hair is the steam. All the shapes and lines of this logo where drawn and redrawn, then scanned into digital form and re-drawn digitally. All the edges and curves were smoothed and softened to invite the viewer and remind the consumer of how beautifully delicious Tanya's soups really are. Tanya and the Tanya's Soup Kitchen logo design and graphic design brand identity have become interchangeable, recognized as one-in-the-same. Her website design and Facebook persona allows Tanya to share her unique attitudes with her many fans and friends. All the graphic design in Tanya's brand identity reflects and has become the symbol for Tanya's amazing personality. Tanya has become more than a proprietor of a sheik restaurant, she has become a food goddess and a beacon for sub-culture lifestyles and attitudes. The early lines anticipating a bowl of Tanya's amazing soup often extend from one side of the restaurant to the other and even out of the door. Tanya has become famous in the Wichita area and well know in the highest perches of the food industry. This brand identity video includes; logo design, website design, environmental and print. Join the attitude at http://www.facebook.com/tanyassoupkitchen http://www.facebook.com/tanya.tandoc http://tanyassoupkitchen.com/ Tanya's Soup Kitchen is located at: 1725 East Douglas Avenue Wichita, KS 67211 Tracy Holdeman is founder and creative director of Insight Design Communications, executive creative director of WhisperNewYork. Western's New Visual Identity

03:06
The university's official name remains The University of Western Ontario, and will continue to appear as such on diplomas and official documents. But for communication, marketing and web purposes, Western University -- or, at times, simply Western -- will be the university's new name. Western is a complex organization with multiple identities and symbols, which sometimes hinders our ability to communicate the impact of the University as a whole -- we can do this better From June to December 2011, we involved faculty, staff, students and alumni in a discussion about Western's visual identity - the logos and words we use to describe the University. We conducted online and in-person surveys, workshops and individual interviews with close to 5,000 alumni, donors and friends, more than 3,700 students and approximately 2,000 faculty and staff members. We are grateful you took the time to respond and share your opinions. Without your feedback and engagement, we would not have the comprehensive perspective we require. This new identity will be rolled-out over the next 12 months as new communication materials are produced, such as our website, stationary and collateral materials. Phamaly Unveils New Logo and Brand

02:08
October 29, 2012-- Unveiling a new logo and company identity. PHAMALY is now Phamaly Theatre Company. The new logo and company identity emphasizes WHO Phamaly is, not the condition performers have. It also emphasizes the acting talent that knows no borders, as well as the variety of theatrical offerings Phamaly has for Colorado audiences. Text for those using screen readers included below: The year was 1989. 5 actors with disabilities formed PHAMALy, or the Physically Handicapped Amateur Musical Actors League, to provide actors wit disabilities the opportunity to perform great musical theatre. They put a cast together including actors in wheelchairs, walking with braces and canes, some who were blind, and a variety of physical disabilities, and perform the musical, Guys & Dolls. Quote: "The only troupe in the country made up entirely of handicapped actors. It isn't about handicapped people acting like they don't have disabilities. It's about acting."-Greg Lopez, Rocky Mountain News (1992). Quote: "We'r all different, but we're also the same. That's what this is about."-Kathleen Traylor, actor/co-founder (1993). Good Stuff. It was good stuff then. It is good stuff now. Phamaly evolved. While most know us by the name PHAMALy, the full name became the Physically Handicapped Actors & Musical Artists League. Actors not just with physical disabilities, but also those with disabilities across the spectrum were welcomed to Phamaly. In other words, Phamaly became inclusive. Blindness, deafness, bipolar, autism, wheelchair user, amputee, misshapen, cognitively challenged, hearing impaired, missing limbs, sick, shaky, depressed, learning disability, traumatic brain injury, differently abled. In addition to musicals, Phamaly expanded its theatre offerings: dramatic plays, classics, comedic plays, children's shows, sketch comedy, monologues, improvisation, workshops. With this evolution, a change in company identity was necessary, not to keep up but to lead and light the way. Presenting the new company identity, emphasizing WHO Phamaly is, not what condition performers have. Emphasizing talent that knows no borders. Emphasizing the variety of great theatre performed for audiences. I am a singer. I am a dancer. I am a performer. I am a storyteller. I am an actor. I AM Phamaly Theatre Company. Visual description of logo: text based logo in all caps that says PHAMALY THEATRE COMPANY, with the AM in Phamaly in bold. Beneath this logo, a tagline that says "theatre with possability." Purposely misspelled as p o s s a b i l i t y to highlight the word ability.

Importance of a CREATIVE Logo

03:50
http://www.vividesigngroup.com/ | Do you want people to assume that your business is boring, bland, or unimaginative? Is it OK if your business prospects think that your work is amateurish or low quality? What people SEE is what they CONCLUDE! Today, we are going to talk about how important it is to have a CREATIVE Brand Mark Hello I am Dennis Hogan, Creative Director for Vividesign Group. I have personally designed well over 100 logos or brand marks in my career. 20 of these have become Nationally award winning Logos from organizations like American Corporate Identity. I want to share with you principles that have helped me design Logo that GET Noticed! These same principles will Guide you to be a better Consumer of your corporate identity brand. If you KNOW what makes the MOST effective logo, you can help guide your designer to create the VERY best logo for your organization People make immediate decisions about people and things, like your businesses, based upon their FIRST IMPRESSIONS. If the first thing that they see about your business is collateral material with a logo that is well...Boring, bland or unimaginative, amateurish, low quality....You get the picture. They will conclude THAT is the nature of your business. Those are not the qualities that you want associated with your organization...Regardless of what industry you are in. So many businesses, especially small and start-up companies put very little thought into the identity of their business. And so "OBVIOUS" becomes the operative word. The name is an obvious choice (Bob's Plumbing company for instance)...And the logo is done by a non- professional and IT too is OBVIOUS! "OBVIOUS" is easy. "OBVIOUS" is quick. But also "OBVIOUS" is NOT IMPACTFUL! "OBVIOUS" is NOT MEMORABLE! "OBVIOUS" does NOT portray ingenuity or UNIQUNESS! One of the key characteristics of a trademark is to distinguish YOUR business from all other companies. An obvious name and logo will give the implication that your company is NO DIFFERENT than any other business! What do I mean by an "OBVIOUS" logo"? For instance an initial mark that uses plain uninteresting letters with no distinctiveness. Or a symbols of a logo that appears to use clipart or a generic little picture that looks like everything else. Don't fall into the trap of obvious or generic! If you already have a logo that is lacking creativity its never too late to look IMPRESSIVE instead of ORDINARY! Your clients don't want ordinary service or ordinary products...So don't tell them...by first impression...through your logo...That Ordinary is what you offer! Fist Impressions are Everything! Your potential clients are drawing conclusions about you every day. You can at least partially control their perceptions by making your company image Bold, Simplistic and stylish! If you are looking to have a new logo designed make sure your logo designer understands the principles of what makes a powerful Logo. If you are looking for a logo designer, Give US a Call at VIVIDESIGN Group. We would love to unleash our creativity on your project. Have an AWESOME Day everyone!

NYSE Euronext Rolls Out New Brand Identity

01:41
-- NYSE Euronext (NYX) today unveiled a new brand identity that underscores the company's growing role in unlocking the potential of its global community. The new look was unveiled today across its exchanges and other locations around the world as well as online. "Our new branding evokes an organization with both a strong vision and rich heritage, positioned to pursue our growth strategy: empowering the world's capital market community to innovate and collaborate," said Marisa Ricciardi, Senior Vice President and Global Head of Marketing. "NYSE Euronext has transformed dramatically over the course of the last five years, and we sought to better represent our position today and direction for the future." The new icon -- an abstract representation of the globe -- conveys the dynamism of NYSE Euronext's markets, the connectedness of its community and the diversity of its people. Multiple color bars represent its broad array of products, geographies and cultures. The green and blue color palette reflects growth and optimism; the lighter hues convey the company's commitment to transparency, and the bolder colors recall its storied historical role in developing the world economy. NYSE Euronext has literally outgrown its previous icon -- two portals symbolizing the merger of NYSE Group and Euronext in 2007. Development of the new logo and look began some time ago and was put on hold during the NYSE Euronext-Deutsche Börse merger discussions. Now NYSE Euronext is moving on, enabling customers to reach across oceans and asset classes, a strategy most recently articulated at the company's Investor Day last month. "We have always connected companies, capital and ideas," Ricciardi added. "NYSE Euronext builds active connections across the largest, most diverse business community -- powering new trading platforms, creating new products and services, and connecting the world's most important capital markets to unlock potential throughout the world." The greens of the new look differentiate NYSE Euronext from the logos of other exchange groups as well as the banks and broker dealers that are both customers and competitors. It's also a fitting choice in that NYSE Euronext is the first and only global exchange group to be carbon neutral [link press release]. The new fonts -- Akko, DIN and Calibri -- have been selected to be more environmentally friendly, known for using little ink and paper. The new look also reflects the vibrant energy and global composition of NYSE Euronext's workforce. The company's employees have a strong record of community engagement, through volunteering time and resources to charitable organizations around the world as well as working the community strategy every day through the company's "ICE-T" values: Innovating with Purpose; Collaborating Productively; Engaging with Clients; and Thinking Broadly.

http://youtube.com/savvysexysocial // You've probably heard me talk a lot about brand personality. It's a really important aspect of developing the voice of your business as well as how to attract your ideal clients through likability. But I realized that even though we discuss ways to convey personality, we haven't discussed exactly how to determine what it is for your particular brand. Every brand personality is going to be vastly different. It has a lot to do with your business goals, the people within your organization, and how customers want to connect with you. So in today's video, I'm giving you some direction on how to navigate this task which will not only help your network build an emotional connection but help you understand how you can do that. What are you business goals? You're not going to all this trouble for nothing. Keeping your business goals in mind is always important because everything you do should be a step in that direction. But it's also a good place to start of how to define the overall theme of your presence. Who is the personal connection? Every brand needs to have an individual that people can connect with. It may not be as blatant as the face of weekly vlogs on a website, but it might just be the person who responds to tweets and people know they can count on. People connect with people, not logos. So take into consideration the person you're putting at the forefront of connecting with your audience and whether their personality might be playing into your brand's. What topics are fair game for your brand? You can't be all business all the time. If you want to stay focused on a general theme, that makes a ton of sense. But that doesn't mean you can't address things on a fun level that you may not have ever talked about professionally but can keep conversation light with your network in between. Great example. Absolutely anyone that talks about any type of food for a living could definitely make fun of the new holiday flavored Pringles. Unless you have site that promotes such a thing (which I don't hate on) this would be my #1 priority now to tweet and laugh about with followers. Get an idea of the playfulness that you want your brand to convey and make it policy for your community manager (even if that's you). It will remind you that even though you want to pimp out those blog posts and coupons, you need to have a little fun, too. How do you build your brand personality? Triple S, ep. 69

Simplicity in Logo Design

03:26
http://www.vividesigngroup.com/logodesign.html - There are certain principles that make a company logo MOST EFFECTIVE! One of them are the need for simplicity in design. This teaches why simplicity is so important. Have you Ever been told by a Vendor...I am sorry we can't embroider your logo because it is too complex? Have you tried to scale your logo down to a small size only to realize that it was no longer recognizable? Today, we want to look at the value of a Simplistic Logo Hello I am Dennis Hogan, Creative Director for VDG. I have personally designed well over 100 logos or brand marks in my career. 20 of these have been Nationally award winning Logos from organizations Like American Corporate Identity. I want to share with you principles that have helped me design Logo that GET Noticed. These principles will help you to be a better purchaser of your corporate identity brand. If you know what makes the most effective logo, you can help guide your designer to create the VERY best logo for your organization One of the most common mistakes found in corporate identity today is with logos that are too complex. Eight out of every ten logos gets bogged down with excessive details. Simplicity gives a logo style. Simplicity gives a logo uniqueness. But there are several practical reasons why a logo ought to be simplistic in its nature. First, complexity and detail makes a logo difficult if not impossible to be reproduced in all applications. Secondly, simplicity makes a logo more memorable. A good rule of thumb is this. An effective logo should be able to be just as effective on the side of a pencil in a single color as it is on the side of a billboard. It is irrelevant whether you will ever need to put your logo on a pen or not, but if it as effective there, it will be effective in any application. Look at the world's most successful brands. They certainly understand the principle of simplicity. Take Nike for instance. There is not a lot of complexity in the "swoosh" logo. However it is extremely successful. The question is: Do you want your company to look successful like the Nike's of the world? Or would your rather look like a small mom and pop operation working out of your garage? If you are currently having a logo designed, the best way to test a logo for it's simplicity is to have your designer show it to you inBlack and white ONLY With NO shades of gray. Only solid black in and solid white areas. Then scale it down to the size it would need to be to fit on the side of a pen. If it is still as good. You may have a winner Fist Impressions are Everything! We would love to unleash our creative Juices on your project. Have an AWESOME Day everyone!

Logo Branding - Rebel 8

00:17
This short animation was for my 'Introduction to Graphic Design' module in the second semester of my first year of uni. The brief was to create a short animation using just to logo from a chosen brand that portrayed the company. I do not own Rebel 8 or the logo. I used After effects to create the animation and Final Cut Pro to add the sound. I do not own the music. The song is 'Superhans' by Kidboy. The blog following the module and creation of the animation is; http://de1121fincrowther.tumblr.com/
