PLEASE READ before you comment: This is a photo compilation of individuals killed by drunk / intoxicated drivers (most of the victims were 18-24 years old when they were killed). The compilation was put together by a college professor after losing yet another student in a drunk driving accident. All pictures were selected and uploaded to the MADD website by the victims' families and friends (for those who have asked: the author of this video did not engage in any selection other than 'age' and 'non-intoxicated / third-party victim'). The background song is by Belgian group Clouseau ("Ik wil niet dat je weggaat" ["I don't want you to go away"]). It happens to be in Dutch, but the only reason why it was chosen is because its arrangement and voice carry across the sadness and despair of the victims' relatives and friends. Addendum 1: Some viewers have questioned the authenticity of the photos. I'd like to question in return: Why should I use FAKE photos, considering the photos of DUI/DWI victims are readily available? Each single year, between 13,000 and 16,000 people die in drunk-driving accidents in the United States. All photos were taken from the MADD database. In addition, by reading through the comments you will find posts made by the mothers of three victims in this video, as well as by numerous friends. A fourth mother also contacted me. Addendum 2: Please keep your immaturities to yourself. I will delete all rude, provocative, argumentative, or otherwise inappropriate comments. It's a very sad sign that you feel like having to make them in the first place.

Anchor charged felony death- victim's brother reacts

05:59
Go to: http://www.myspace.com/ncproud for more about Casey Bokhoven News anchor Tolly Carr was charged Friday, April 20, 2007 with felony death by vehicle in the drunk driving incident March 11 which killed Casey Bokhoven. Tolly Carr turned himself in and has chosen to remain in jail until sentencing. Sean Bokhoven, Casey's brother, reacts to the new charge and puts a face on the grief that one family has endured. Tolly Carr was also charged with driving while impaired in the accident Sunday, March 11, 2007, which took the life of Casey as he stood on a sidewalk in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Carr has also been charged with felony serious injury by motor vehicle in relation to his co-worker and passenger Fjola Wilson. Also, the DA is still not releasing Tolly Carr's blood alchohol test results citing their release to the public could jeoparize Carr's right to a fair trial. Tolly Carr issued a direct apology to the Bokhoven family, mentioning Casey by name. He is now in jail, and has no plans to post his bond of $100,000 because he says he doesn't deserve to be able to do that. Carr's next court date is May 9. Casey Bokhoven, age 26, was violently struck and killed by a pickup truck as he stood on a sidewalk waiting for his girlfriend. The truck, driven by WXII (Winston-Salem, NC) morning anchor Tolly Carr, vaulted over a small wall and hit Casey at 30 mph, dragging him 22 feet, hitting a building and coming to rest with Casey under the wheel. The incident occurred Sunday, March 11, 2007 around 3:40 AM. Charged with DWI, Carr admitted he had been drinking and warrants detail that he refused a Breathalizer test. Blood was taken from Carr, and the results of blood-alcohol tests have not yet been released to the public as of this date (April 20, 2007). From the WXII 11 pm broadcast, Friday, April 20, 2007. Anchor's alcohol binge- victim's excruiciating last moments

03:49
Go to: http://www.myspace.com/ncproud (Click it for Casey) for more information Casey Bokhoven's father brought a civil suit against Tolly Carr and three bars that allegedly served him excessive alcohol. The suit was filed Friday, May 18, 2007. The civil suit also outlines graphic details of Casey's last moments including a terrifying and conscious realization of the impending collision, excruciating pain and suffering in the moments after Tolly Carr hit Casey and as he was thrown or dragged 22 feet, after which the pickup truck landed on him and he died. This was heartbreaking to read. The civil suit alleges that Carr consumed around 17 drinks at three bars before getting into his pickup truck drunk, driving down West First Street without headlights on and ultimately killing Casey. The three bars mentioned are: Sounds on Burke, 6th and Vine and the Burke Street Pub. A figure of $10,000 is being requested however, it is ultimately up to a jury to decide the amount actually awarded. Arbitration will be used first to see if a figure can be agreed upon by the defense and the prosecution. Blood was taken from Carr, and the results of blood-alcohol tests showed that Carr's blood alcohol concentration was .13, well over the legal limit of .08. Dead teens wreck leads to crackdown DRUNKS SPEEDERS BEWARE!

01:26
As a direct result of four teens dying in a high speed crash Memorial Day weekend, the NC State Highway Patrol is increasing manpower by nine officers to crack down on speeding as well as other driving offenses in Davidson Country through the month of July. Officers are trying to cut down the number of driving fatalities in the county by targeting speeders, drunk drivers, aggressive drivers and seat belt violators. Stepped up patrols will be on major highways and rural paved roads in the county. There have been 121 fatal collisions resulting in 133 fatalities in Davidson County since January of 2002. So far this year, there have been 18 traffic fatalities. That's up 63.6% since this time last year. Members of the dead teens' families spoke at a press conference to announce the increase in law enforcement. Video from WXII12.com from a broadcast, Monday, July 2, 2007. Some text from wfmynews2.com ********* Story from Memorial Day weekend 2007 Four teens died Saturday May 26 2007, in Davidson County, North Carolina, just one county over from Winston-Salem. The four teens, all underage, died in the horrific wreck when the car they were riding in crashed into a tree around 2 am. The car and the dead teenagers were not discovered until 9 am. It is believed that they were wearing seatbelts, but three of the victims were thrown from the vehicle. Law enforcement says an "extremely high rate of speed" was a factor and alcohol was found inside the car at the scene. Investigators are working with the victims' friends and family to determine where the boys got the alcohol. Investigators are trying to determine if alcohol played a factor in the accident. Killed in the crash- -Jacob Mayo, 19, Winston-Salem (driver) -Chad Calvert, 18, Thomasville -Zachary Main, 18, Kernersville -Robert King, 20, Trinity While it is yet to be determined how and if alcohol played a role in the accident and deaths of the four teens from Davidson Couty, Casey Bokhoven was definitely a victim of a drunk driver. Casey died March 11, 2007. While standing on a sidewalk in Winston-Salem, NC, he was hit and killed by news anchor Tolly Carr. http://www.myspace.com/ncproud http://www.youtube.com/ncproud

Dead DWI victim's name NOT said- HIS NAME IS CASEY BOKHOVEN!

00:33
Go to: http://www.myspace.com/ncproud for more about Casey Bokhoven WXII in Winston-Salem, North Carolina reported that news anchor Tolly Carr's lawyers plan to ask for a continuance at Monday's court date (May 21)for the felony death and injury charges he faces in relation to his drunk driving accident March 11, 2007. Carr's attorny David Freedman said there was a conflict with his co-counsel. They must now decide whether to take their case to a jury trial or to plea bargain with prosecutors. NOTE: In my opinion, WXII has done a good job of reporting on their former morning news anchor's DWI arrest and subsequent indictment on felony death and injury charges. BUT- There is a serious omission in this story. CASEY BOKHOVEN is not mentioned by name, but is referred to as only "a 26-year-old man," who was hit and killed by Tolly Carr! This is simply not right! HIGH speed- 4 NC teens hit tree- DIE- alcohol punch in car

01:38
Four Dead In Davidson County Crash on Saturday, May 26, Memorial Day weekend 2007 Friends remember the much loved teens at the crash site DAVIDSON COUNTY -- Four people died early Saturday after an accident on Joe Moore Road in Davidson County, according to the Highway Patrol. The victims have been identified as: -Jacob Mayo, 19, Winston-Salem -John Calvert, 18, Thomasville -Zachary Main, 18, Kernersville -Robert King, 20, Trinity The victims' families have been notified. The North Carolina Highway Patrol said the vehicle, driven by Mayo, was travelling at an "extremely high rate of speed" when it left the roadway and struck a tree. Three of the victims were thrown from the vehicle; all are believed to have been wearing seatbelts. Officials believe the crash happened around 2 a.m. Saturday. The victims were not discovered until 9 a.m. Saturday when residents living nearby spotted the car. Alcohol was found inside the vehicle at the scene and Highway Patrol officers suspect alcohol was a factor in the crash. An autopsy will be conducted to determine if the driver had been drinking. Investigators are working with the victims' friends and family to determine where the victims obtained the alcohol. Video and text from WXII12.com. WXII TV is an NBC affiliate and is located in Winston-Salem, North Carolina While it is yet to be determined how and if alcohol played a role in the accident and deaths of the four teens from Davidson Couty, Casey Bokhoven was definitely a victim of a drunk driver. DUI Death Upon Innocents In Memory of Wendy & Kimberly Sands

08:28
On June 10 th 2000, my 26 year old daughter Wendy and 6 year old granddaughter Kimberly were off to a birthday party. They asked me to go with them and I told them thanks but no thanks. We kissed and hugged each other and we told each other' "I love you" and off they went. Later that evening I received a phone call from Wendy's friend and she asked to speak to Wendy. I informed her that she was not home yet. She told me to quit kidding her and that they left her house over an hour ago. I told her I was not joking around and went looking for them. I came upon a crash. It was Wendy and Kimberly. A three time repeat offender in a dodge ram truck ran a stop sign at 96 miles per hour T- boning Wendy's car. Wendy was the point of impact. She died within seconds. Kimberly, though wearing a seat belt was thrown from the car during one of the many times it rolled. She lay in a pile of rocks struggling to breathe for two minutes before she too died......
