Girls in Tech Gibraltar Design Thinking Bootcamp 2018

Our second annual Girls in Tech Gibraltar bootcamp was held over the weekend of the 6 - 7 October 2018. This year's bootcamp was all about Design Thinking - learning the methods of design thinking, human-centred design models, innovation processes and creative ideation. After achieving an LLB (Hons) in Law at Kingston University London and completing her BPTC at City Law School, she decided to take on a new challenge within the dynamic and fast-paced world of gaming. Her product journey began 7 years ago, in a B2C Casino setting, where after learning the business fundamentals she became instrumental in influencing product growth from concept to implementation. In a bid to broaden her product portfolio she joined Ladbrokes Coral as a business analyst with the sole objective of delivering a new mobile sportsbook product, which evolved into a product manager role thus allowing her to drive the roadmap and relentlessly improve the product. A year ago Alexandra transitioned into the B2B world as a Casino Product Manager for Playtech where she continues to share her passion for all things product and innovation, whilst also promoting ways of working such as SAFe. Laura Graham is an experienced analyst with a talent for extracting from data, the understanding which helps achieve business growth. With a background in Psychology and research, Laura entered the world of online gaming in 2006 at Partypoker, where her analysis provided the market and customer intelligence to help regrow the business following regulatory shut down in the US. She joined Betfair in 2013 taking more of a commercial role and turning the data-driven approach to the world of product development. From there, her passion for data-driven marketing and product development flourished through a variety of analytical and commercial roles at Betfair, Sky bet and now Lottoland. ‘Women in Tech Stories’ is aiming to bring female professionals in the Technology fields within the Gibraltar area as speakers to narrate their personal journey of achieving the success they have - discuss what they do (their profession), what was the path that led them to the career they have now, what challanges and accomplishments they experienced along the way and what they love about their job. The event is designed to follow a TED-style 'lightning talk' format where several female professionals will give their personal accounts of their professional experiences and discuss the drivers, challenges and accomplishments that have defined their careers.
