Bynder Creative Project Management Tour

With an increasing number of team members working remotely or from home, project management tools have never been so important. Bynder’s creative project management tool enables team members to collaborate on creative projects in an organised and structured way. Workflows can be designed for the specific project in mind. Usually, the first step in a workflow will be the briefing for the designer. Once this is entered into the workflow, the workflow can be moved to the next stage. Once it is moved to the next stage, the person responsible for the next stage is notified of what they need to do, and when they need to do it by. The next stage is normally down to the designer. The designer can view the brief submitted at the previous stage and then use that to inform the design. The designer can upload a draft of the creative to the workflow, using the drag and drop upload functionality. Once the draft is uploaded, it can be sent to the approval stage. At the approval stage, users can accept or reject the creative. If the creative is rejected, then users can add annotations to the creative to explain how it can be improved. If at any point you want to bring a section of the workflow to the attention of another user, you can tag the user in the comments section. That user will then get an email notification. Bynder’s unique creative project management module helps to improve the effectiveness of your project management. By keeping the whole project management process within the creative project management tool, managers have complete visibility over the whole process. It also means that creative briefs, comments and annotations cannot be lost or buried in emails, as all information relevant to the project is kept in the workflow. And additionally, stakeholders within the workflow have clearly defined roles and tasks, which ensures that there is no confusion when it comes to the roles people are performing to get a job done. All these factors lead to a more efficient and streamlined creative project management process.

The Bynder digital asset management portal is an easily accessible way to manage, maintain and organise your digital assets. The portal offers single sign on, or SSO. This means that customers can sign in to the Bynder brand portal with existing company login credentials, for example from the company email service. Consequently users do not need to remember yet another password, which they may ultimately forget and need to waste time resetting. This feature contributes to the accessibility of the brand portal. Once the user logs in, then he/she is presented with the brand portal homepage. Through the news management real, users can be kept up to date with recent changes in the asset bank. For example if a new range of winter coats has been launched, or a logo has been changed. Below this, collections can be embedded in the homepage so that important collections are quickly accessible. Bynder express is another feature that is accessible through the homepage. Bynder express is our web transfer service. Through Bynder express, the user is able to transfer large files without needing to store them in the digital asset management portal. Additionally, tiles are an important part of the makeup of the homepage. They provide convenient links to frequently used assets or parts of the asset bank. For example, tiles can be pre-set filters that can filter the asset bank at the click of a button. So for example, if you have an asset bank full of pictures of cities, and you create a tile based on a filter of Barcelona, then once that Barcelona tile is clicked, the user will be taken to a group of pictures that satisfy the Barcelona filter. Now we will address the digital asset management module itself, and how the module works. Uploading assets to the digital asset bank is a quick and easy process. The assets can be simply dragged from your desktop and dropped into the asset bank. Once the asset has finished uploading, you can assign meta properties to each asset. This means that when you search for the assets in the future, the correct asset is returned. Searching for assets can be done in a number of ways. But they all use the same mechanism. Bynder uses filters to sort through the assets in your asset bank. These filters rely on the meta properties that are assigned to each asset. Another useful way to filter your assets is by colour using the colour wheel in the toolbar. This is particularly useful for designers who are looking for assets of a specific colour to fit into a design they are working on. Another helpful tool that is available within the digital asset management module is usage stats. These can indicate to marketing team leaders exactly which assets are being downloaded the most. This can be useful when identifying whether new product range assets are being used. The sharing of digital assets is another area in which the digital asset management module excels. Users can create collections of assets and share those assets with others. After the collection has been shared the user can edit assets within the collection and can also restrict or revoke the access of other users to the collection.

Bynder Brand Identity Guidelines Tour

Our brand guidelines module acts as a style guide to help to enforce brand consistency within your organisation. Finding information within the brand guidelines module is quick and easy. Elements of your brand such as your logo, fonts used on the website and the colours that form your brand are segmentable. This means that the user can find guidance on the part of the brand they're dealing with, as fast as possible. In the past, brands have been constrained to hosting their brand guidelines on a pdf, or another form of static document. This means that whenever the brand guidelines are updated, the pdf must be redistributed to all parties concerned. With the Bynder brand guidelines module, the brand guidelines are hosted in one easily accessible place. This means that any changes are automatically available to all stakeholders, without the need to redistribute the brand guidelines. Sharing the brand guidelines with other members of your team has now been made easier. By clicking a share icon within the brand guidelines, an email window will appear with a link directly to your guidelines. Converting the guidelines to pdf is also an option within the module. This might be useful if you want to share the guidelines with an external stakeholder, such as a PR agency, to ensure that your branding stays consistent across their work too. Brand guidelines can also integrate with the Bynder digital asset management module. This opens up a whole avenue of ways to easily import assets into your brand guidelines. The inclusion of these visual assets means that the guidelines offer a more in-depth understanding of how your brand should be presented. For example, the different backgrounds that your logo should not be presented on, as well as the specific font type and text colour that your brand requires.

Being able to quickly distribute physical branded materials is an important aspect of any marketing strategy. And running out of branded materials can be a frustrating and unnecessary barrier to the effective communication of your brand. Ordering printed materials from the Bynder brand store is quick and easy. The Bynder brand store enables users to buy printed materials directly from within the brand portal. Designers can create branded templates, and then other users can populate the templates with content that is relevant to their needs, for example business cards or flyers promoting a new range. The templates ensure that all printed materials that are created are consistent with brand guidelines. The templates also mean that creative dilemmas are not a barrier to the creation and delivery of the marketing materials, as the structure of the materials are already set by the template. Therefore, there is no need to fit the design of your materials into your designer’s work schedule. This saves time and money. Additionally our brand portal can convert Indesign files for you to send to print from within the brand store. The layout and user interface of the brand portal adds to the ease and speed with which you can order printed materials. The brand store has an easy to use interface that resembles any other ecommerce shop. This means that the user can quickly understand exactly what branded materials are available and how much they would cost. Within the brand store you can make an array of different products available to fit the needs of your organisation, from banners to newsletters and from business cards to posters. The multiple product shots also help the user to understand how the different sides or pages of the product will be displayed. The user can then pay for the materials directly from within the Bynder portal.

Implementing a new digital asset management tool is an important step in the growth of a company. However what is more important is making sure that it is being used, and being used in the correct way. With user management analytics you can see exactly who is using the asset bank, and how they are using it. Regularly analysing the usage of the asset bank is an important way to ensure that your organisation is getting the most out of your digital asset management tool, and the most out of your money! Bynder Insights allows you to assess the usage of your brand portal in three main ways. Firstly, you can view how many people are actually using assets in your asset bank. For example you can see how many people are uploading, editing, or downloading assets and how often they are doing it. Secondly, you can view how many user accounts have been created and how often they use the brand portal i.e. how many times users log in/out. Thirdly, you can look at workflow stats and analyse the number of jobs that have been created, the number of job revisions and additionally the time it took to create the job. All of these stats give you an insight into how to make better use of the bynder brand portal. User management is also a key feature of the Bynder tool. If your organisation has a lot of employees or stakeholders, being able to create a large number of user accounts is important, both for the implementation stage and the on going maintenance of the user accounts. Employees can be bulk added to the Bynder brand portal by sending out email invitations, which ask the users to finish creating their Bynder profiles themselves. Managing the permissions of all your users is also a task that is made easy with the Bynder brand portal. After selecting the Rights option in the settings (cog) drop down menu, you can quickly find and edit the permissions of the user in question.

We are proud to share our very first round­table event hosted at our Amsterdam headquarters. We invited some of our clients, including AkzoNobel, KLM, Syngenta and Doosan, to share their experiences and ideas for Bynder’s future roadmap. Customer feedback has always been our best source of ideas, so it was extremely important for us to get our clients onboard. This Round Table Event allowed our Champions to get to know Bynder better, but also vice-versa. We wanted to know what our customers’ wishes for the upcoming year were. Furthermore, our customers had the opportunity to meet each other, share experiences and find out which other companies chose Bynder and the reasons why. We gave them a tour of our Amsterdam office and different departments in order for them to have a better idea of how we work on a daily basis. The main topic of the event was Bynder’s 2016 Development Roadmap, alongside our newest features of our Digital Asset Management (DAM) system and Marketing Resource Management (MRM) solution. After our meeting sessions, we even had the opportunity to take our customers out on a boat trip during the SAIL Amsterdam event, which is held only once every 5 years and attracts over 2 million people from all over the world. In order to do this, we are constantly working on improving our clients' experience with Bynder by making our software better every day. This is why we like finding out how our clients use Bynder. Each and every one of them chose our branding automation software for different reasons - this means that they all have various ways of using Bynder to solve their problems. We thought it would be interesting for them to compare their experiences with us, and to see the other industries we have been helping out. In order for them to meet up, we organised our first London Client Forum! Some of our UK and Ireland based customers, including AVIS Budget Group, Edrington and Tourism Ireland were invited to get together with us at our London office. The Forum started off with a short visit of the office, so the participants could get a better idea of what goes on behind the scenes. This was followed by an introduction from Chris Hall, our CEO, who explained how Bynder can help automate many time-consuming processes, not only within your company but also with agencies you work with, by invigorating your communication and agility with them. Mark Tenniglo, our CPO, then went on to present our roadmap for 2016, including an overview of Bynder's new upcoming features. A few of our clients then took over, explaining how they use Bynder, and which problems it has helped them solve. This was followed by Lidia Lutttin, CMO for Bynder, presenting how Bynder's marketing team uses Bynder, focusing on the Creative Project Management module used for the creation, approval and distribution of our visuals. All in all, it was a great learning day for all of us. We look forward to doing it again!
