CALL FORM (calls a modal form). OPEN_FORM (opens a separate, independent form). About Multiple Form Applications: -A multiple-form application is designed to open more than one form module during a single Forms Runtime session. -Every Forms Runtime session begins the same way—with a single form module being loaded into memory. -Once the first form module begins execution, it can programmatically invoke any number of additional form modules, which, in turn, can invoke still other forms. Such modular application development can provide advantages both at design time and during deployment. -When a form module programmatically invokes another, Oracle Forms looks for the new module in the appropriate directory and then loads it into memory. NEW_FORM: -Exits the current form and enters the indicated form. -When a form executes NEW_FORM to invoke another form, Oracle Forms exits the first form and releases its memory, and then loads the new form (i.e., the second form completely replaces the first. If changes are pending in the first form, Oracle Forms will prompt the end user to save them before the new form is loaded. -NEW_FORM is restricted. Code: new_form('E:\FORMS_ALL\MMS_form\MMS_demo\HOMEPAGE.fmx'); CALL_FORM: -When a form executes CALL_FORM to invoke another form, the called form is modal with respect to the calling form. Any windows that belong to the calling form are not usable until the called form is exited and control returns to the calling form. -CALL_FORM is an unrestricted procedure. -CALL_FORM is valid in Enter Query mode, while OPEN_FORM and NEW_FORM are not. -Code: call_form('E:\FORMS_ALL\MMS_form\MMS_demo\HOMEPAGE.fmx'); OPEN_FORM: -When a form executes OPEN_FORM to invoke another form, the first form remains displayed, and end users can navigate between the forms as desired. An opened form can share the same database session as the form from which it was invoked, or it can create a separate session of its own. For most GUI applications, using OPEN_FORM is the preferred way to implement multiple-form functionality. -OPEN_FORM is restricted. Code: open_form('E:\FORMS_ALL\MMS_form\MMS_demo\HOMEPAGE.fmx'); Contact us: email: [email protected] Skype: oracle26solutions Mob: 01734557080, 01627422780

Oracle Reports | Theoretical Concept About Reports Builder & Reports Style | Bangla (Reports-01) To See More Reports Tutorial Click here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y_0f_iILlmY&list=PLXXvCMuixAJUfU4ZISmPtHrmKe5qRvyVY To See More Forms Tutorial Click here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zsu4CWo_vwk&list=PLXXvCMuixAJU3Ap_FE2zSEBicv8IC5kDU Dear viewer, In this tutorial you will know theoretic concept About Reports Builder & Reports Style. About Oracle reports Builder: Oracle Reports Builder is a component of the Oracle Developer suit. It publish data from any source, in any format, to any destination with high fidelity. It is a powerful enterprise reporting tool that enables you to rapidly develop and deploy sophisticated Web and paper reports against any data source (including an Oracle database, JDBC, XML, text files, and Oracle OLAP). Oracle Reports Builders is a collection of programs that allows you to centralize report processing and better manage reporting efforts. Reports builder is one of the program components included with Oracle Reports Builder. Features include: -User-friendly wizards that guide you through the report design process. -Pluggable data sources (PDSs), such as JDBC and XML, that provide access to data from any source for your reports. -A query builder with a graphical representation of the SQL statement to obtain report data. -Default report templates and layout styles that can be customized if needed. - A live editor that enables you to modify paper report layouts in WYSIWYG mode. Benefits : Oracle Reports enables us to publish data from any source in any format with high fidelity. In addition to SQL, PL/SQL, and Express, you can publish data from Java Database Connectivity(JDBC) sources, XML, text files, or your own data sources that you have defined. Develop your report once, deploy it anywhere. -Output formats include HTML, HTMLCSS, XML, PDF, text, Postscript, RTF, delimited, character, etc. Oracle Reports uses a standards-base, modular architecture. Supported File Types: Oracle Reports can be saved in a variety of formats and then deployed with Oracle Application Server. JSP-JavaServer Page Format RDF-Report Definition File: Binary file containing source code. REP-Report: Binary file without source code. HTML-Hyper Text Markup Language. XML-Extensible Markup Language. Tabular Reports: A tabular report is the most basic type of report. Each column corresponds to a column selected from the database. Group Above Reports: A group above report contains multiple groups in its data model. It is a "master/detail" report, where there may be a lot of information in the master group. For every master group, the related values of the detail group(s) are fetched from the database and are displayed below the master information. Group Left Reports: A group left report also contains multiple groups in its data model, dividing the rows of a table based on a common value in one of the columns. Use this type of report to restrict a column from repeating the same value several times while values of related columns change. The data model for group above and group left reports is the same, but the layouts differ; group above reports display the master information at the top while group left reports display break columns to the side. Matrix Reports: A matrix (cross-product) report is a cross-tabulation of four groups of data: One group of data is displayed across the page. One group of data is displayed down the page. One group of data is the cross-product, which determines all possible locations where the across and down data relate and places a cell in those locations. One group of data is displayed as the "filler" of the cells. You also know about Property Class and Use Of Property Class, SmartClass, Difference between property class & visual attributes , About Inherited & Variant Property. About Property Class: - A property class is a named object that contains a list of properties and their settings. -Once you create a property class you can base other objects on it. An object based on a property class can inherit the setting of any property in the class that makes sense for that object. -Property classes are separate objects, and, as such, can be copied between modules as needed. Perhaps more importantly, property classes can be subclassed in any number of modules. Difference between property class & visual attributes : 1.Named visual attributes define only font, color, and pattern attributes; property classes can contain these and any other properties. 2.We can not define the trigger for visual attributes ; but We can define the trigger for property class. 3. You can change the appearance of objects at runtime by changing the named visual attribute programmatically; property class assignment cannot be changed programmatically. About Smartclass: -A Smartclass is an Object library object that is defined as a standard object type for an application. Each object in an Object Library can be flagged as a SmartClass (green check mark). -It is special member of an object library. -It can be applied easily and rapidly to existing objects. -A Smartclass is the preferred method to promot similarity among objects for performance. Inherited Property: -An inherited property is one that takes its value from the property class that we associated with the object. -It is displayed with an arrow to the left of the property name. Variant Property: -A variant property is one whose value has been modified from the inherited value that comes from the property class associated with the object. -We can override the setting of any inherited property to make that property variant. - It is displayed with a red cross over an arrow. About Backup: A backup is a copy of data. This copy can include important parts of the database, such as the control file and data files. It is simply a copy. If you loose original data, you can recover it by using backup.A backup is a safeguard against unexpected data loss and application errors. If you lose the original data, then you can reconstruct it by using a backup. About Recovery:To restore a physical backup of a datafile or control file is to reconstruct it and make it available to the Oracle database server. To recover a restored datafile is to update it by applying archived redo logs and online redo logs, that is, records of changes made to the database after the backup was taken. If you use RMAN, then you can also recover datafiles with incremental backups, which are backups of a datafile that contain only blocks that changed after a previous incremental backup. Types Of Backup: There are two types of Oracle backup - Physical Backup - Logical Backup Ways Of Backup And Recovery: There are two ways to perform Oracle backup and Recovery: - Recovery Manager (RMAN) - User-managed About Recovery Manager(RMAN): Recovery Manager is an oracle utility (with graphic and command-line interface) that can backup, restore, and recover database files. It is a feature of the Oracle database server and does not require separate installation. RMAN is the component of the Oracle database that is used to perform backup and recovery operations. It can make consistent and inconsistent backups, perform incremental and full backups, and back up either the whole database or a portion of it. RMAN uses its own powerful job control and scripting language, as well as a published API that interfaces RMAN with many popular backup software solutions. About user-managed backup: You can also use operating system commands for backups and SQL*Plus for recovery. This method, also called user-managed backup and recovery, is fully supported by Oracle, Although use of RMAN is highly recommended because it is more robust and greatly simplifies administration. Backup Strategy May Include: - Entire database (whole) - Portion of the database (partial) Whole database backup: Includes all data files and at least one control file (Remember that all control files in a database are identical.) Partial database backup: May include zero or more tablespaces and zero or more data files; may or may not include a control file. Backup Mode May Be: - Offline (consistent, cold) - Online (inconsistent, hot) Offline backups (also known as “cold” or consistent backup): Are taken while the database is not open. They are consistent because, at the time of the backup, the system change number (SCN) in data file headers matches the SCN in the control files. Online backups (also known as “hot” or inconsistent backup): Are taken while the database is open. They are inconsistent because, with the database open, there is no guarantee that the data files are synchronized with the control files. Step-03:About TNS: Transparent Network Substrate (TNS), a proprietary Oracle computer-networking technology, supports homogeneous peer-to-peer connectivity on top of other networking technologies such as TCP/IP, SDP and named pipes. TNS operates mainly for connection to Oracle databases.TNS: Transparent Network Substrate: Oracle relies on TNS to provide network connectivity between Oracle databases, regardless of underlying protocols. This is an oracle network technology that is user-transparent. Step-02: Location of TNS: DevSuiteHome_1\NETWORK\ADMIN Step-03:Create TNS: -start button -all programs -Devsuitehome1 -configuration and migration Tools -net configuration assistant -select local net service name configuration -add -write service name (database name) -TCP -write host name (local host/real-ip) -change login (any schema) -write service name (anything) To Get more Tutorial Subscribe The Channel click here https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCQ3ea4zVCfnKBx1_7h8raGQ?sub_confirmation=1 To Get All Post Like The Facebook Page Click here https://www.facebook.com/oracledbsolutions Follow us: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/oracledbsolutions Youtube link: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCQ3ea4zVCfnKBx1_7h8raGQ?view_as=subscriber Facebook Group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/465557066961548 Contact us: email: [email protected] Skype: oracle26solutions Mob: 01734557080, 01627422780

You also know about Global Variable. Global Variable: -A global variable is a oracle forms variable whose value is accessible to triggers and subprograms in any module that is active during the current session. -Global variables contain character data values. We can store maximum to 4000 bytes of char data, while in previous version it was limited to 255 bytes char. -we can use the DEFAULT_VALUE built-in procedure to assign a value to a variable whose value is NULL. Example: DEFAULT_VALUE(‘ ’, ‘global.webadd’); Declare Global Variable: Create trigger WHEN-BUTTON-PRESSED Code: declare v_record userinfo%rowtype; begin select * into v_record from userinfo where username=:user_name; if v_record.pw=:pass then :global.log_uname:=v_record.username; end if; open_form('E:\FORMS_ALL\MMS_form\MMS_demo\HOMEPAGE_OS_34.fmx'); end; Calling Global Variable: Create trigger WHEN-NEW-FORM-INSTANCE Code: :LOGUSER:=:global.log_uname; To Get more Tutorial Subscribe The Channel click here https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCQ3ea4zVCfnKBx1_7h8raGQ?sub_confirmation=1 To Get All Post Like The Facebook Page Click here https://www.facebook.com/oracledbsolutions Follow us: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/oracledbsolutions Youtube link: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCQ3ea4zVCfnKBx1_7h8raGQ?view_as=subscriber Facebook Group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/465557066961548 Contact us: email: [email protected] Skype: oracle26solutions Mob: 01734557080, 01627422780

About Recovery Manager(RMAN): Recovery Manager is an oracle utility (with graphic and command-line interface) that can backup, restore, and recover database files. RMAN can store backups on the disk for quick recovery or place them on the tape for long-term storage. For RMAN to store backups on the tape, you must either use Oracle Secure Backup or configure an interface to the tape device known as a Media Management Library (MML). Types Of RMAN Backup: -All data blocks within your chosen files (full or incremental level 0) -Incremental (only information that has changed since a previous backup, level 1) - Cumulative - Differential To Get more Tutorial Subscribe The Channel click here https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCQ3ea4zVCfnKBx1_7h8raGQ?sub_confirmation=1 To Get All Post Like The Facebook Page Click here https://www.facebook.com/oracledbsolutions Follow us: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/oracledbsolutions Youtube link: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCQ3ea4zVCfnKBx1_7h8raGQ?view_as=subscriber Facebook Group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/465557066961548 Contact us: email: [email protected] Skype: oracle26solutions Mob: 01734557080, 01627422780

About Report Bursting: Oracle Reports enables you to deliver a single report to multiple destinations simultaneously. By taking advantage of this feature, you can create a single report, then send it in any format (layout driven formats, such as PDF or HTML, as well as data model driven formats, such as XML or delimited) to multiple destinations. You will modify a simple report we have provided to burst each group to a separate report. You will then modify a sample distribution XML file to send an e-mail to each destination with an attachment based on the separate reports. You will also send multiple e-mails to the same e-mail address with a single attachment (the entire report) Bursting on a Repeating frame: 1. Delete the parent (outermost) repeating frame. -in the Paper Layout -or, in the Object Navigator 2. Go to the Object Navigator. -Paper Layout -Select the main section node -Invoke its Property Inspector -Set the Repeat on property by selecting the repeating group on which the report will be burst. About Report Distribution: Report distribution enables you to design a report that can generate multiple output formats and be distributed to multiple destinations from a single run of the report. You can create distributions for an entire report, and for individual sections of the report. For example, in a single run of a report, you can generate HTML output, send a PostScript version to the printer, and also e-mail any or all sections of the report to a distribution list. Distributing a Report: 1. Define the distribution -Go to the Object Navigator -Paper Layout -Select the main section node -Invoke its Property Inspector -Click the Distribution property to invoke the distribution dialog box and set up the distribution list for that section. 2. Active the distribution -From the Menu -Select file -Click distribute or, on the command line, specify Distribute=yes. Types Of Triggers: We can code PL/SQL in a variety of triggers in a report to provide conditional or additional processing at run times. There are three Trigger types in Oracle Reports, such as: Report -Five Triggers Data Model -Parameter validation Layout -Format trigger Report Trigger: Report triggers enable you to execute PL/SQL functions at specific times during the execution and formatting of your report. The function must return a Boolean value (TRUE or FALSE). Using this triggers, You can do things such as -customize the formatting of your report -perform initialization tasks -and access the database. To create or modify a report trigger, you use the Report Triggers node in the Object Navigator. Types Of Report Trigger: Oracle Reports has five global report triggers. You cannot create new global report triggers, such as: Before Parameter Form trigger After Parameter Form trigger Before Report trigger Between Pages trigger After Report trigger Before Parameter Form trigger: -It is fire before opening the parameter form After Parameter Form trigger: -It is fire after closing the parameter form Before Report trigger: -It is fire before opening the report output Between Pages trigger: -It is fire for each and every page except first page. Validation Triggers: Both system parameters and user parameters have a Validation Trigger property in which you can write a PL/SQL function to validate the value of the parameter. Validation triggers are PL/SQL functions that are executed when parameter values are specified on the command line and when you accept the Runtime Parameter Form. Validation triggers are also used to validate the Initial Value property of the parameter and it is applicable only on parameter. Depending on whether the function returns TRUE or FALSE, the user is returned to the Runtime Parameter Form. Using placeholder columns, you can: Populate multiple columns from one piece of code. You can calculate several values in one block of PL/SQL code in a formula column and assign each value to a different placeholder column. Thus, you create and maintain only one program unit instead of many. Store a temporary value for future reference. For example, store the current maximum salary as records are retrieved. Placeholder column: Questions: Maximum salary. Who is the maximum salary earner ? What is his/her department name? What is his/her department id? What is his/her city name?
